this just came over the wire on The Last Word with Matt Cooper large landowners will be excluded from any property tax on land over a certain size. This is another example for avoiding to broaden the tax-base to include the wealthy in society.

This makes no sense one could come to think that Fine Gael favors any adjust that will protect large landowners over the regular PAYE taxpayer. ;)

Only thing that makes sense is therefore to seize the land from them. As Morrissey once remarked, 'A rush and a push and this land we stand on is ours'.

Seriously you now know the reason why the Irish constitution protects property rights. The Republic was a fraud and the large landowners in the state have been operating that fraud for decades with the Oireachtas and the likes of Kings Inn as mudguards.

This will sink in over the next year or two.

You need to do one thing as a citizen that was never done in Ireland in order to have a Republic. You and the other citizens need to control the largest resource- and that in Ireland has always been the land.

That interview was embarrassing to listen to.
Land is being excluded because you can't earn money from land. As if you can from a family home.
He also defended the property tax by saying they had no choice in it due to the agreement with the troike. But went on to say that, if FG were in power alone, there would be no property tax. But he personally supports a property tax anyway, so it's for the best.
He was all over the place. A muppet of the highest order.
