Is there any better way of combining all the silliness in Britain in one statement?

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/dec/01/christians-should-pray-from-prince-george-to-be-gay-says-c-of-e-minister

Christians should pray for Prince George to be gay to force support for same-sex marriage in the Church of England, a senior Anglican minister and LGBTQ campaigner has said.
The Very Rev Kelvin Holdsworth, provost of St Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow, made the comments in a blog he reposted about LGBTQ inclusion in the Church of England following the announcement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement.
In the post, he writes that Christians should pray “for the Lord to bless Prince George with a love, when he grows up, of a fine young gentleman”,
Royal weddings, trndy CofE theology, right-on equality posturing and attention seeking all rolled into one.

WOW!!! All it's missing is a fatwa on Brexit and calls for a healthy option gluten-free Great British Bake-off while competing in I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here with a disgraced star from Coronation. Lieutenant-colonels (retired) will be spluttering in their morning tiffin in Tunbridge Wells when this story reaches the Daily Telegraph.

The C of E clergy are a joke. They are a bunch of atheistic Guardian readers who don't give a toss about Christianity. No wonder their Church is dying.

He's not wishing harm on anybody, and seems to be trying to trigger a debate on the issue.

We should also pray that Harry's first young lad is black so as they can trigger a debate on racism in the upper classes.

Homosexuals have significantly higher rates of alcohol and drug addiction problems, are much more likely to get stds, have serious mental health problems and much less likely to form life long committed relationships. Now none of that is an excuse to hate homosexuals or to argue that homosexual activity between consenting adults should be illegal, however all that does show that being straight is better and healthier, so yeah he is actually wishing harm.

And before anyone starts indulging in self-satisfied Prod bashing Irish Catholic clergy are just as bad only they have a bit more discipline because occasionally Rome is capable of stepping in when they get ultra-crazy.

The priest in this report is clearly attempting to cast a spell on the young child, known more generally as witchcraft, he should be removed from office without further comment, a disgrace to his organisation, a disgrace to Britain, and the head of his Church, Queen Elizabeth, needs to comment on this publicly, because now it's got personal

England (not the UK, England) seems to be heading towards some sort of massive cultural rupture along the lines of the liberal/conservative split in the USA.

No, he's implying that prayer works. Childish stuff.
I'm not sure that it's the prayer element that has triggered the OP...but I could be wrong. To be fair, starting a thread about a vicar asking people to pray, might not get much traction :p

So what's your excuse?

If homosexuals are treated the same as heterosexuals, let's see how long the first part of your paragraph stands up...one might even imagine that gay marriage might help to solve some of the issues that you have outlined.

Prayer does work, bro. Once you pray for the right stuff: acceptance. Since the days of the Stoics, right up until today's CBT acceptance is the key to happiness. If you pray for it you are showing willingness. And that's half the battle. The fact that prayer works for a lot of people is independent of whether God exists.

BTW for a believer acceptance means accepting the will of God, for an atheist it would mean accepting what life throws at you and distinguishing what you have control over and what you don't.

You're one to talk about serious mental health issues.

I wouldn't go that far....Also as regards "Queen" Elizabeth (she and her family have no Royal Legitimacy what so ever), well she allowed "Prince" William to appear on the cover of and do an interview with a homosexual soft porn magazine. Just think about that for a second.

Sounds like a right Looney which isn't all that unusual as far as religion is concerned.
