Is there any better way of combining all the silliness in Britain in one statement?

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/dec/01/christians-should-pray-from-prince-george-to-be-gay-says-c-of-e-minister

Royal weddings, trndy CofE theology, right-on equality posturing and attention seeking all rolled into one.

WOW!!! All it's missing is a fatwa on Brexit and calls for a healthy option gluten-free Great British Bake-off while competing in I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here with a disgraced star from Coronation. Lieutenant-colonels (retired) will be spluttering in their morning tiffin in Tunbridge Wells when this story reaches the Daily Telegraph.
Another bigoted, xenophobic rant that no one has the ethical courage to call out for fear of being seen as pro Brexit.

If a Brexiteer had written this about the French it would rightly have been recognized for what it is - bigotry.

(The CoE, or any church in the UK stopped representing the people many, many decades ago btw).

This week it's the Scottish episcopalians apparently. I can't keep up.
It is a bit like the Franciscans vs the Dominicans .....

Francis is of course a Jesuit, whereas Benedict is a Diocesan ....

Dominican Popes: Bl. Innocent V, Bl. Benedict XI, St. Pius V, Benedict XIII

Franciscan Popes: Nicholas IV, Sixtus IV, Sixtus V, Clement XIV

Benedictine Popes: St. Gregory I, Sylvester II, St. Gregory VII, Bl. Victor III, Paschal II, St. Gelasius II, St. Celestine V, Clement IV, Bl. Urban V, Pius VII, Gregory XVI

It may well be in the 22nd Century, before George becomes king, given their longeviety and soft lives and reluctance to abdickate.
Would The UK accept a King and a prince/prince regent as the royal couple by then?
You're giving William 119 years of age, eh?!

Any wonder that the UK is falling to Islam in many areas. You have the PM Theresa May cucking out and condemning Donald Trump for tweets when Islamic terrorists are running riot in Britain.

She seems to be more exorcised about Trump retweeting Britain First than the threat posed by Islamic terrorism.
And your hero Trump tweeting his support for the far right, while ignoring the domestic terrorism in his own country. No surprise that you have an issue with a woman standing up to an ignorant right wing ar$ehole.

Prayer does work, bro. Once you pray for the right stuff: acceptance. Since the days of the Stoics, right up until today's CBT acceptance is the key to happiness. If you pray for it you are showing willingness. And that's half the battle. The fact that prayer works for a lot of people is independent of whether God exists.

BTW for a believer acceptance means accepting the will of God, for an atheist it would mean accepting what life throws at you and distinguishing what you have control over and what you don't.
Just accept then. Praying for acceptance is appealing to a higher power for change - quite the opposite of acceptance.

I just recognize bigotry when I see it.

If a British person had written that OP about the Irish or the French you would see it (rightly) as xenophobic drivel without a point, but because you share many of the same prejudices you see it as some kind of piercing insight.

The OP regularly spouts the kind of prejudiced rants that many a UKIP member would be proud of - most people though wont call it out for fear of being labelled a supporter of Brexit.

A fine example of the coming together of the Roman and Anglican priesthood.
It's like a dead heat/tie at the ecumenical soggy biscuit tournament.

Common goals unite both churches!

They are not running riot, and May did the right thing in condemning those Tweets. In fact, it was the bare minimum. I would have gone a lot further.

Trump is a bit thick and an embarrassment to the U.S.

Yes, yes you're right. Most Muslims are rapists. Something should probably be done about this. We are lucky to have an exceptionally intelligent POTUS who can solve all this by Tweeting

youd have to be a bit of a dope to assume most muslims are rapists because ive never heard anyone actually say that and its not an argument Trump has made either. but as your specialised subject is strawmen it might be different in your head

So he wants to ban Muslims from entering the United Staes, but he doesn't tar them all with the same brush or anything.

Of course, he is actually highly intelligent and just very, very misunderstood thanks to the biased mainstream media who are pro Islamic extremism and want to destroy the west - absolutely nothing insane there at all...
