Let's start a campaign to get Ireland back in the UK

If anyone is interested in starting a campaign to get Ireland back in the UK then please PM me and if you like register your interest in this thread too.

For me its about time that something was done in Ireland to form a Unionist movement to get Ireland back where it belongs. We need a political party that is committed to Unionism and to re-uniting within the UK with our friends in NI.

Such a party committed to Unionism is also committed to Ireland having a guarenteed parliament in the UK.

Such a party will freely admit that mistakes were made in Ireland last time it was part of the UK. However, people must realise that in the modern world such wrongs will not be repeated - catholics will not be discriminated against, areas will not be left to starve, such things can't and won't occur in the UK these days so people should realise this, and the Irish will have a say in their own affairs through its very own parliament.

Such a party also freely encourages the Irish identity and the freedom to choose your identity within the UK, whether that be Irish and British, Scottish and British etc etc.

So who wants to help set up this Unionist party, who wants to help gather support and lead Ireland back into a prosperous and peaceful UK?

As a work in progress name for such a party we shall be called the 'Irish Unionist Party' (don't think there is a current party of this name).

Join our cause now if you share our beliefs!

Stop creating these silly threads. Ireland will never rejoin the UK. The US is more likely to join than the Republic of Ireland. Ireland is independent and will remain independent.

Why though?

Give us one good reason.

P.S. to cure your insomnia is not an efficient answer.

Don't you worry Ireland will come running back to the UK one day because Ireland is British simple as that, the sooner they realise it the better.

And if you are holding out any hope that Ulster will ever rejoin with you rebels and leave the UK then you are sorely mistaken because we will never surrender, no surrender, never, never, never!!!

How are you planning on converting the overwhelming number of British citizens that believe the 32 counties of Ireland are a single country and do not belong in the UK?

Thanks for the laugh though.

The British people will not let their country be ripped apart by rebel, murdering nationalists.

The majority of people support the union, however, the minority who support nationalist causes are unfortunately more vocal and therefore it SEEMS they have more support than they actually do.

Fact is terrorist republicans are evil, murdering bastards and will never succeed in breaking up my great British nation, we love Britishness, we love Her Majesty The Queen and we sing Rule Britannia with pride.

You bloody rebels can have your ridiculous ROI country for now while we laugh at your patheticness and at how small and pitiful you all are.

Long live Ulster! We will never surrender! Never, never, never!

Petermaniac reminds me of that Monty Python sketch where the headmaster pays tribute to all the former students who died to keep India British.

Petermaniac your real name isn't David Vance is it?

If England cant control its own troops or even run its own country right then why would anyone want to commit democratic suicide and hand their country over to the incapable.

Should this not be in the humour section? Seriously? I mean, Petermaniac is, to his/her credit, a good comic creation. Kind of like As Gaelige Man on that RTE sketch show. We could pair him/her with Never Forget Cromwell Man.

Where does these people come from? In all seriousness. Every week at LEAST 2 threads a DAY are started on Northern Ireland or the NI question.

Aren't people sick of saying the same thing?

no people only get sick of hearing the same thing. P.ie should be proof that some people take sheer joy from saying the same thing over and over again.

If you want to get back to the UK then I suggest Ryanair.

We will all have a collection for the fare but you can pay the taxes yourself.
