he is lucky, if he could not get out of these isles then he is better off that he never realised his ambition

I'm curious as to what legal basis they had for stopping him from getting on the plane, bearing in mind that his intention seemed to be to fight against ISIS

Lots of people leave the country with they intention of doing stupid, dangerous things abroad, but they don't get pulled up at the airport.

True that... but sure pacifists --large numbers of whom volunteer for ambulance service during war time- see more "battlefield action" than P.ie's resident military enthusiasts and keyboard warriors.

I know Limerick's a kip but action needs to be taken when it's citizens would rather live in Mosul.

Fair play to him. No doubt the radical leftists will come down hard on him for wanting to fight against their pets.

Who knows maybe the "Racists" might see him as a bit of a role model, as he was joining a Christian group that will be attacking Islamic fundamentalists. There will be plenty of left wing posters who may class this guy as an Islamophobe.

Another right wing nut case totally ignorant of the reality of international socialists victories against Daesh.

Carry on making a tit out of yerself.

Social media is swarming with anti-terrorism surveillance, FB is a honeypot leading to all sorts of other social media tokens. Anyone thinking of doing similar, will be picked up.

The Pediga fan boys prefer marching in the street in combat fatigues and menacing Muslim women.

Meanwhile leftists are actually fighting Daesh.

Meet the Bob Crow Brigade: Young British Socialists Fighting ISIS and Patriarchy with the Kurds | VICE | United Kingdom
VICE is an MI6/CIA job. The Bob Crow Brigade is just a cheap photo shoot.

The Limerick guy should have flown out from Dublin with Turkish Airways - though going via Turkey is dodgy. The Gatwick cops would probably have known about him - why fly via Gatwick and not Dublin? When questioned, as he was a novice, he gave the wrong answers and so was detained. Probably saved his life.l

But but but - what about his right to travel? I thought that was in the constitution?

Seems our volunteer wasnt stopped by Irish Special Branch but British anti-terrorism police at Gatwick.

Though no doubt they were tipped off.

Yet captured ISIS prisoners talk about being transported through and trained in Turkey

Fair point, the Irish constitution confers a right to leave the country, even if one's intention in doing so is to commit a homicide.

But he was stopped in a UK airport. Maybe the Brits value human life more.
