From the Twitter feed.

DROGHEDA LATEST: Munster 18%, Bell 10%, Cassidy 10%, Byrne 7%, Callan 6%, Smith 6%, Culhane 5%, Maher 5%, Godfrey 5%, Flood 4% #election14

Looking at that if it turns out that way - Munster, Bell, Cassidy, Byrne, Callan and Smith. probably Culhane and Maher. After that it's just a case of which two stay ahead of the rest.

A lot of the candidates are missing from all of the tallies. It seems like they only counted enough candidates to match seats available.

Deary's vote last time was 12.5% in first preferences but that was dundalk south. this time carlingford (i think butler became the cllr when he became a senator and then he became a town councillor when 2011 election happened and so i think that is why they are in the opposite parts now.)
Butler looking safe. Deary not so good ...

An impressive piece of vote management has seen the majority of Mrs Munsters surplus going to the bottom SF candidate. This will result in SF pulling off a clean sweep in Louth 11 councillors out of 11 candidates

ardee - tomas wilkinson ff transfers went 43% to his party colleagues. 8 candidates left for 5 seats. independent candidates votes to be distributed. 127 votes separate bottom 5

tommy byrne elected dundalk. 6 seats left, 7 candidates - 3 fg, independent, labour, ff. last eliminated from anti austerity alliance. 1 fg, 1 lab and 1 ff very tight. 33 votes separating them.

dundalk carlingford - 4 left, 3 seats. mcgahon fg 1,386 votes. deary 1,262 votes. keelan ff 1,154 and quigley sf 1,152 votes. and i think what we are awaiting on is the distribution of the 2 votes of loughran sf. if all go to quigley, we have a tie.
Hopefully ;)

Drogheda wrapped up.

SF 3, FG 3, Ind 1, FF 1 and Labour 2. As commented earlier very good vote management by SF to get three as Flood only got about 0.4 of a quota. Decent for Labour as well considering what's happened elsewhere but voter recognition helped both weather the storm. Big losers Michael O'Dowd and Frank Maher.

Did Fergus O’Dowd's brother lose out to the Jr Ministers son? (a late addition to the party ticket)

Nope both went out. They both polled poorly to start with and didn't have a hope. Hard to say if the vote split or if Michael was getting dumped anyway. 1st preferences for the O'Dowd name was about 6%, which would probably have put one of them in with a shout.

Garret beat his uncle by 4 votes, and Michael was on the phone calling for a re-count. I mean he rang into the count center because he wasn't there.

It was stupid to put both on the ticket but that's local party politics for you. :)
