Roscommon councillor Paddy Kilduff quits Fianna Fáil - Shannonside

After all the furore over the resignation of Noeleen Reilly isnt it time we had the same interest shown in the civil war South Roscommon Fianna Fail?

Kilduff was censured by the party in 2016 for allegedly making a 'remark of a personal nature' against fellow Fianna Fail councillor John Keogh. Keogh is a favoured son of party HQ and is expected to be added to the Fainna Fail ticket in Roscommon-Galway. The intention here is to remove Eugene Murphy who would be classed as one of the Country and Western Brigade while Keogh is a solicitor and has recently stated that he is a member of the LGBT community.
Kilduff denies making any such remarks but has made numerous rather colourful remarks down the years. Keogh originally took a defamation case but this was withdrawn after the party found on his behalf.

Now if this story was about Sinn Fein councillors it would have been headline new but because its Fianna Fail its not mentioned. Why the double standards by the media?

Why do you need to ask such a question? Sinn Fein are a threat to the Political Establishment, simple as!

It's standard standard which is of course a double standard.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Seems a little different to the nature of the SF resignation though.

Old guy says something old guys say, gets given out to. Quits and says he will retire next time.

This is a non story. Conflating it to the knacker-fest that SF has heaped on itself is a stretch...

Well...there is the standard by which the Irish media pretends that the Moriarty Tribunal has disappeared into a vortex, and never needs to be opened up.......

It looks like bullying but it cant be. That only happens in SF.

Excellent.

Another FF politician breaks ranks.

This might be opportunism. Once he drops the affiliation to Meehaul 'the developers money was just resting in the wife's account' Martin, he will be much more electable.

Most politicians are narcissists and in competition with members of their own party. As a result, the level of in fighting across all partys is comical. Most councillors ultimate aim is to become a TD and limited postions are available. If bullying exists in SF and Im sure it does to some degree (bullying may not be the right word) it also exists in every other successful party. SF have gone from trying to find people to run in certain constituencys to having too many ambitious councillors all wanting a place at the big show.

If Wolffie, TED, Wolf or Barna were still around we would be on page 40 by now.
