Lowry will be looking for some serious concessions for North Tipperary by the looks of it.
Some Quirkey concessions regarding Irish gaming laws.

The Dublin jakeens wonder why Lowry tops the poll every time down in Tipp?

The Tipperary Venue is the brainchild of developer Richard Quirke, a former garda from Thurles who is best known for running a gaming arcade, Dr Quirkey’s Good Time Emporium, on Dublin’s O’Connell Street.

The proposed development, which An Taisce described as “mind-blowing” and “Las Vegas-style”, includes a 6,000sq m casino, a replica of the White House, a 500-bedroom five-star hotel, an entertainment complex with seating for 15,000 people, an all-weather racecourse, greyhound track, 18-hole golf course and parking for almost 6,000 cars.

Visitors would also be able to access the 800-acre site by helicopter as the plans include a “major” heliport.

The grounds would be landscaped and feature a “reproduction of Lafayette” – the seven-acre public park located directly north of the White House in Washington DC.

The “Tipperary White House” building would be used as “a banqueting facility” and also to host wedding receptions.

The project would require the diversion of two rivers and the building of a road to connect to the recently completed Dublin-Cork M8 motorway.

The existing racecourse at Thurles would clos when the facility is built.

Supporters of the project include Horse Racing Ireland, Coolmore Stud and leading trainer Aidan O’Brien.

An “extremely pleased” Mr Lowry said finance for the project was “not an issue”, that it would not require “any State aid or grants” and that it had already attracted “a keen level of interest from international investors”.

However, changes to the Gaming Act would be required for the casino to obtain a licence to operate. Mr Lowry said he expects the Government to shortly “publish a report it commissioned on the gaming laws” and to issue “a policy statement indicating that enabling legislation will be introduced which would allow the casino to operate”.

A new addition to Two-Mile-Borris.

Shall we pull the plug on Moriarty?

By the way, which which bring about an election sooner, the threat of
- an organised bank run?
- cancelling direct debits?
- a general strike?
Or - sqealing to international bond that Lowry and healy Rae now hold the balance of power? And sending YouTube clips of their finest moment to them?
Lowry could unify Fine Gael and Fianna Fail under his leadership!petunia

And what about the Connaught crooks?
I don't think Gilmore is a crook (even though I would not vote for him), and anyways there are enough honest-ish politicians in the rest of the province to rein in the crooks. But we are overwhelmed by the crooked politicians from the other 3 provinces. Lowry is a convicted tax evader, and thus a big ole crook.

As I said, we have enough honest votes in Clontarf, Dundrum, Dun Laoghaire, Bray etc to out-vote Drumcondra, Kinsealy etc. But not when they have Thurles and Listowel and Castlebar backing them up.

How about repartition?
Leinster - excluding the Buffalos, combined with Shannon, Connemara and Galway city, Waterford, Cork, Antrim and Down?
Derry and Limerick would be capitals of Direland and Paddywhackery disrespectively.
(obviously Roscommon would not be governed by any city and they willallow free travel to all through it)

That's just daft. Dublin has greater Dáil representation that Connacht & the Ulster counties combined (47 v 31 TDs ).
Nor does Dublin have a monopoly on "honest" voters, having returned crooks like Haughey, Ahern, Burke & Lawlor for years and by big majorities

Listowel? take that as your idea where healy rae is from? idiot... you know i would love to see what we would be like without dublin though... i mean cork and glaway are far nicer cities with greater room for development... Also your class divide is so obvious you just mentioned areas that have a high middle-to well off population...

What about ballymun, clo0ndaklin, crumlin, south inner and north inner city, plamerstown, tallaght? your ignorance is actually insane

Haughey was Mayo-born and it could be argued, spawned the remainder of that cabal's behaviour, setting the example, as he did.
He was a Dub through & through, raised on the Northside. Haughey didn't grow up in the West.

No, I picked Listowel because that was were the jurors who shook the hand of the convicted rapist were from.

I don't wish to derail the Original Poster's thread about Lowry, so I'll develop my ideas when I have posting privileges. Thanks.
