Has loyalism every been favourable portrayed in movies or TV? The currently popular British TV show Peaky Blinders apparently is doing nothing for the image of this particular brand of how to be British.

Rare footage of IRA members planning and carrying out a bomb attack at Queen's University Belfast will be broadcast as part of a seven-part BBC documentary series on The Troubles.

The footage was recovered from a lost American documentary and will be broadcast on Tuesday night in episode two of Spotlight on the Troubles: A Secret History.

The rarely-seen footage was filmed for an American documentary called The Secret Army which was based on a book by the same name written by New York academic J. Bowyer Bell.

Good man, that's pertinent in a thread about Loyalists.

They also were pretty savagely parodied in Trainspotting 2.

Given the original film wa a big deal internationally, I always wondered if the international audience understood what that whole section was about.

God but that was painfully unfunny.
It had a bit of cultural significance at the time, I don't remember it being the worst Friday night TV , it was quirkily amusing

The constant stream of films with portrayals of Irish rebels etc.. has them in fits ... "why do they never make any films about us"😂😂

Tis just like the music, sport and culture .. something to be jealous of and insecure about
