The former Sinn Féin councillor, who quit Belfast City Council a dozen years ago in a bid to become to become a media moghul, is to stand in again in the Balmoral electoral area. Some might say that Máirtín never really left politics in the first place.

The Daily Ireland was a spectacular flop but the Andersonstown News and other BMG titles (including the South Belfast News) are still around, though apparently not keeping Ó Muilleoir fully occupied. I wonder how his 'socialism' will sit with the well-heeled denizens of the Malone Road? ;)

Great news for SF, met him some years back in Chicago and asked him why he left the political scene, he retorted with a list the length of your arm how much he wanted to personally achieve in his life, very clever guy folks, to those of you who don't know him, sounds like another wonderfully worked out tactic by SF in bringing a media guy into the political equasion at this particular turbulent economic climate time in Ireland when SF are being attacked daily by the lousy 26 County West Brit media.

But as his media empire is based in the North and a Belfast Councillor doesn't really have any pull in the ROI ......

Monkeymac - you do realise that Belfast is in NI and not in the ROI ?

Is he an Adams Loyalist is the question. Is he re-entering the Northern fray to counter balance any loss of authority Gerry might suffer as he heads to a different jurisdiction?

Why ask me Crumb? Murchin has his blogs/website, ask him yourself.

btw, less of the namecalling, lessens your credibility sir.

You really are dim Monkeymac.

1) How will his becoming a Northern Councillor, if he wins a seat, enable his Northern media empire ( SF the socialist party - meh! ) to affect the negatives in the 26 of the ROI media ?

2) I know Adams isn't a councillor - that's why I wrote the Northern stage and the Northern fray .......

Anyone??????????
Ah yes, sorry, that's right...I'd forgotten that you're completely clueless on all subjects pertaining to Northern Ireland politics. I see you are now establishing that over here too and with your usual aplomb.

But anyway......its almost as surprising that a socialist would join Sinn Fein as it is that he would seek election in Balmoral...unless Balmoral has some kind of urban underbelly I'm entirely unaware of...he's got ambition, I'll give him that.

Can somebody with a multi-million pound media empire be considered a socialist ? We know he's not just a front man, he really is filthy rich.

Don't try that flip flap stuff with me crumb, by bringing in innuendo and false allegations, as above simply proves you have no real answers to my assertions.

I love onionists like you sir, namecalling and going off topic seems to be what you guys are good at, as tedious ted has just illustrated in his posting.

Ummm...there's no namecalling there, simply an observation on your paucity of knowledge about, well, anything.

Who is Murchin anyway? Are you on about cartoon character or something? Well at least you have found your level Mick. Murchin....??

Knowing Murchin Crumb, I know what he would say to the above, have the kahounnas sir and ask the man these questions without pestering me, I prefer first hand stuff, seemingly onionists just believe what it says in the Shankill Mirror:lol::lol::lol:

Name calling ? crumb ?

I'll ask again - please explain how him becoming a Northern Councillor will in any way enhance any counter effect his already existing Northern media empire will have on what you called the "lousy 26 County West Brit media"
