I like Malta. It reminds me that living on an island shouldn't cost as much as it does here or the UK.

If Malta is offshore, it has its own offshore as well, tied in to politics, perhaps (or maybe not). The Euro parliament wants to ask PM Muscat some im/pertinent questions:

Last week, in a move calculated to increase the pressure on Muscat, the European parliament inquiry invited him to give evidence on 18 May, when he will be in in Strasbourg on official business. It has no power to compel him to attend. The leader responded immediately, saying now was not the right time.
“The prime minister is happy to appear in front of the European parliamentary committee,” his office told the Guardian. “In order to present as complete a picture as possible, the prime minister will do so once the independent magisterial inquiry – which he requested himself – is concluded.”

(*sigh*) It's never the right time....

Fly to Malta. You only pay taxes.

I wonder if it being a small place, there is a media oligarch whose media empire dominates public duscussion, & prevents open, frank discussion.

Just wondering.....

Back in 2004 the Times of Malta could publish this opinion piece:
Times of Malta ‒ The oligarchy

In 2016 it published this one:
Times of Malta ‒ Labour

So there appears to be some sort of semblance of a free press ...

PS: There is also reporting on current events to be found online which seems relatively balanced.
No evidence that anything is being hushed up.

I thought Redacted had thrown his hat into the FG leadership race.

I met Tony Drago (snooker player) before. And my parents went to Malta once and liked it.

Thats about all I have. Carry on.
