Europe was the birthplace of mankind, not Africa, scientists find
The history of human evolution has been rewritten after scientists discovered that Europe was the birthplace of mankind, not Africa.

Currently, most experts believe that our human lineage split from apes around seven million years ago in central Africa, where hominids remained for the next five million years before venturing further afield.

But two fossils of an ape-like creature which had human-like teeth have been found in Bulgaria and Greece, dating to 7.2 million years ago.

Europe was the birthplace of mankind, not Africa, scientists find

The origins of Mankind have recently thought to have been on the Continent of Africa

- always a controversial Theory - the 'Out of Africa' theory [OOA]

- it only really gained traction in the latter half of the 20th Century

Anthropologists have been careful to challenge it due to concerns of being derided and of course non PC in thinking

However now remarkable discoveries in eastern Europe look set to debunk it

It is however too early to say where this will all lead

- but it is certainly food for thought....

My money is still on a region around the equator. I just think that we may have a longer timeline for the anthropology of man than previously estimated.

Could have been two lads on a golfing holiday that got lost looking for a ball in the rough.

It ain't called the Royal and Ancient for nothing you know.

A hairless swimming ape evolved on a continent at a time when it was covered in ice. Sure. Makes sense.

Look at the glee the op indulges in, the only people who have a problem with issue are racists.
Of course he'll argue he's not.

Wrong any way, staggering amounts of evidence around the Rift Valley. Lots of cross migration of various hominids but that is were the chain is.

A stupid argument anyway. All human kind is from Africa, they evolved from lessor primates who evolved from basal mammals who evolved from synapsid reptiles who inhabited continents which where once joined anyway. It's all simply a matter of when you start the clock.

A diet of reading widely from informed scientific sources is generally useful in cases like this.

The only people who have a problem with the op are anti white racists. Of course you will argue you are not.

Very hard seeing how I'm white.

Let me guess you're not a racist either?

Poor Catalpa will clutch at any straw to convince himself that he isn't related to the blacks...
Probably up half the night figuring out how he could maintain that the two 7 million year olds must have known Adam when he were a lad and how they all used to sleep on a big flat stone in all weathers like Mr jesus wanted and then spent another few hours wondering how he could sly the whole thing onto an OP on Irish History which proved that Mr god was originally from Mullanahone.

I agree with your last point of reading widely ,but as the op states this is a new discovery and if their findings are proven correct a very interesting one. If next week there was even older remains found in central africa it would be just as exciting .This phenomena of people only accepting scientific evidence if it suits their political agenda will stifle science and our overall understanding of where we came from.
