Bailey running again could be a real problem for FG - she'll keep their dire performance on this whole issue in the news.

If the challenge to the Data Commissioner's findings on the PSC were to fail around the same time it will be a disaster.

Well a bit of analysis might be of the order of the day.
How do the good folk in Dun Laoghaire think about her running again? Poll?
How does her local party at constituency level think about it ?
Then the bigger picture... would her running again harm Leo and Fine Gael's chances in a close contest with Micheál Martin and FF?
How many FG TDs can hold their ground in Dun Leary? It will be a defensive contenst for FG

And it will affect Madigan too, lots of her potential voters will believe that she was part of it.
Then again, Lowry is still on the go....

Great post.
Poor FG are terrified of this story that isn't going away!
You can tell by the poor FG'ers running away from this thread.

They are afraid of the infection rate. If you want a good laugh, check out this thread started by hbap and see how quickly and for how long he ran away from his own thread.

Ok political apathetics/political illiterates: State/Fine Gael uses your money to spy on you; then when found out, uses your money to defend, delay & continue to control. They use your money to refuse tax from @apple, suck it up😒

Ireland news and sport | Irish Examiner Much more at stake than a little plastic card
The government should just suck it up and only have the card holders use it for DSP purposes and move on and comply with their own laws from now on.

But its interesting that Apple is mentioned in the tweet:

Covert surveillance of people on a global scale. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and Apple need to be brought to book on this apparent/allegedly criminal behaviour. I particularly like this piece of hypocrisy in the article (its at the end):

"A spokesperson for Apple said: “We believe that everyone should be treated with the dignity and respect they deserve — this includes our own employees and the suppliers we work with in Ireland and around the world. Apple is committed to customer privacy and made the decision to suspend Siri grading while we conduct a thorough review of our processes."

"treating people with dignity and respect"? Yeah, covertly record and process their data. That's respecting their dignity and treating them with respect, isn't it?

"committed to customer privacy"? Yeah, that's why you covertly recorded them, their health data, recorded them having sex and then processing those recordings - listening, transcribing, grading and filing.

Why isn't there more about this story right across the globe? This is MASSIVE. Apple iphones and ipads (maybe more devices) have Siri so they have all been listening to every single owner of such a device. How many hundreds of millions (billions?) of people own such a device around the world?

And you can be very sure Apple are not the only ones. There are other such devices by other manufacturers - Google have the Echo Dot, or something like that and I'm sure there are more.

This is why technology companies are so valuable today. It has been recognised that data is more valuable than oil now. And this is why, Your data is being mined, processed, filed and SOLD unbeknownst to you. Cambridge Analitica claimed in the Trump presidential election campaign to hold 5000 data points on everyone.

We are all being tracked. All those notifications on your phone you believe are all soooo helpful to your daily life? They are not there for you. They are there to track your activity. "Find My iPhone"? That's not because Apple understand you lose things from time to time or that phones get stolen and we need to stop those pesky thieves (how admirable!!!). No, its because you have to turn on location services. They are not tracking your iPhone, your iPhone is tracking you.

Next time you visit a website and you get that Cookie notification, instead of blindly clicking Agree, click Manage Cookies (or whatever the other option is) and see just how difficult it is to see whats going on.

Starting to warm to Dixon, fair play to her.

As for FG, I think its time we start calling them out on their continued lack of respect for the law.

Dixon is smarter and far better looking than Doherty.

Varadkar's ladies aren't doing too well these days are they?

Bailey
Madagain
Doherty (what was it Norris called her?)

Then there is MMOC, not to mention lovely Frances Fitzgerald - banished to Europe at the age of 69, when most people would be happy to have retired.

All in all a less than illustrious bunch.
