Was anyone listening to Mary O'Rourke on the radio? Did she say that pensions shouldn't be touched because people on other forms of social welfare could do a few nixers but pensioners couldn't?

Presumably if the "nixer" was declared it would reduce the social welfare payment? Is Mary promoting the black economy?

Or simply telling it like it is. The black economy is booming. The libertarians must be delighted.

One wonders whether the influx of Nigerians into Ireland has changed that perception.
Why do you say that? I have three Nigerian girls (and one from the Congo) working for me in the shop and they work damn hard.

Rather hilariously tacitly agreeing with the statement that it is fine to take money off pensioners any other way, just as long as they don't touch the pension.

On the face of it she would appear to be advising doleies to get a couple of nixers to make up for the lost X-mas bonus

Nothing that daft old bint comes out with would surprise. She should be at home saying her prayers instead of giving her tuppence worth on every issue
