To be fair to the Master of the high Court he must be fed up with his court becoming the clearing ground of the failure of government to either deal with the matter of distressed loans and to face up to the failure of the so called free market in house construction.

Leo famously said that he bought his pad on a tracker loan and suggested that the bank of Mammy and Daddy is the place to finance home ownership.

FG are very dodgy on all issues relating to property. Another bubble will do for them.

If he wishes to quit his well-paid CS job and run for election as a Club Retard TD, then there's absolutely nothing stopping him from doing so.

Despite Leos massive use of taxpayers money for his personal marketing (The Taoiseachs department is spending more money on spin than on policy research FFS!!) , the repossession and vulture sell off stories (front page of Indo 2 days running now) will kill them at the polls ...Hence the usual brain dead blueshirt stooges posting palpable horse sh1t on each thread about it ...they are running very very scared on this one ...and so they should

Noonan , the evil sh1t, and his sucking up and selling out to vulture funds is finally catching up with them

Absolutely - you must have cried bitter tears into your bowl of Lidl gruel when you read last weekend's headlines!

SUPPORT for Fine Gael has surged with the party now enjoying a substantial lead over Fianna Fáil, a new opinion poll shows.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar saw his approval rating increase by four points to 53 per cent

There's actually a thread about it somewhere on this site if you fancy a big weep.

Leo is a vacuous shallow glossy PR stunt that is going to backfire spectacularly at some point. He has already made numerous gaffes but the media love him so he's getting away with it ........ but eventually even they wont be able to gloss over his complete lack of substance.

From The Property Pin:

Asked for his response to the publication last week of his letter to Mr Ahern in which he asked to be considered for appointment as Ireland's judge at the European Court of Justice, Mr Honohan said: "I was happy to see the fact that I applied for a job back in 2008 brought to the public's attention in the hope that it would open up a debate on how we appoint judges. I think it's a debate we should be having."

He objected to his application for the €228,000 job being "characterised" as lobbying, however, adding: "To suggest that it's a revelation is to suggest that there is some wrongdoing. Then there's the question of characterising it as lobbying when it's just an application. The use of the word 'lobbying' suggests that you're using back-door methods, that it's nearly something reprehensible or dishonourable."

A little reminder of FG polling, just weeks before the last GE.

Support for Fine Gael and Labour has now risen above 40% · TheJournal.ie

It won't.
Believe it or not, the vast majority of people understand that if you take out a mortgage you need to pay it back.
And if you fail to pay it back, you're at risk of losing the property.
It's not rocket science.

Varadkar as leader is a sick joke.

Ignore the fake news polls. FF are surging as the terrified and shafted population by this government seek their safe haven and the party they trust to look after them.

Which is all quite reasonable until you take into account all the people who will have their loans sold even though they are making real efforts to pay and have engaged honestly at every step with the lenders. I don't think anyone gives a **** about the wasters unless there is a protest in it for them?

I have zero problem with turfing someone out who thinks they can just pay nothing, I do however think those who have made payment arrangements should not be lumped in with the real wasters.

No most people understand how easy it was to get into financial difficulties and have compassion ...they will also be staggered at FGs hypocrisy ...massive million dollar write offs for the like of O'Brien , whilst they throw ordinary citizens to the wolves

I suppose one of the great joys of being a numerically challenged Club Retard supporter is that when the opinion polls show an increase in your support from 2% to 3% ye can all pile into your 20 year old Nissan Micras and head to your local pub to celebrate a 50% increase in your popularity!

But, disregarding the brainless hysteria, the braying of the donkeys and the white noise, in what way will the sale of their loans affect them in the slightest?

My solution (partial) to all this is:
Multi-generational mortgages.
Full public disclosure of any write-downs that cost the state money. (either directly or indirectly)
No mercy whatsoever if the property is not owner-occupied.
Employing these rules might offset any moral hazard that might ensue
