Things are somewhat fraught at the moment it would seem, so in a communal spirit to be some little help in re-establishing reasonable relations, particularly with those whom in the normal way you generally disagree with, I propose the following thread;

You put up a list, short descriptions, of your general views. Posters replying may only post their agreement with some or all of your points, again, keeping it short, no disagreements allowed.

You never know, you may find there are indeed points of agreement which we can lose sight of, even with your most frequent opponents.

I will kick off.

I like sport, I think its great for kids.

I don't agree with private education.

I think unions are a necessary evil.

I think everyone should pay some income tax, no matter how small the amount.

I'm OK with private health care.

I'm fine with immigrants, but not open borders.

I think feminism has gone overboard.

I'd like to see a cure for middleclassism.

I think the public service is somewhat over paid, generally.

I think our taxes are just about right, with maybe room for a middle rate coming in where the high rate is at the moment.

I dislike Dublin vs the rest.

I'm not mad keen on protest as a form of political activism.

I'm in favour of capitalism, but am quite sure it needs to be controlled.

I think all sports events of a national interest should always be free to air, even if controlled by pay for view systems.

A shed load more stuff which I will add later, but you get the idea.

I like football but not GAA or rugby

Economically liberal

Socially liberal

In favour of immigration and booting out those who don't integrate

Despise FF

In favour of Israel's right to exist as a democracy but also believe in a two state solution

Prefer an autonomous Dublin as part of a federal Ireland

Not too pushed on the national question

Like red wine but not much of a boozer

Not a fan of the safe space generation

Would probably have been a PD voter if I lived in Ireland, more like SPD in Germany

Not religious but respect everyone's right

Neither for or against the EU

Champagne is wonderful.

Alsatian dogs are one of the most noble creatures in existence.

Oysters are fabulous.

Men against gun rights are either rapists, wannabe rapists, pansies or seriously unthinking- women who are opposed to gun rights are gender traitors.

Rolls Royce Wraiths are the most marvellous cars.
