Going through 6 floors Twitter says.

How fire proof is a building like this?

No word of any injuries, hopefully that's a good sign and everyone is out and safe. :|
If you want a concrete box with bare floors walls, windows, ceilings and concrete furniture
then you can have your fire proof building.

Twould suit many posters on this forum.

I'm not getting the 'homeless' obsession on this thread...

Are homeless people more worthy than hotel guests?

It's people innit... doesn't matter whether they're homeless or guests or workers FFS...

Priorities seem to be up many arses with the incessant and cynical attempts to score points at every opportunity.

@PMVTrust: .@HomelessDublin confirms there are no homeless families being accommodated at the Metro hotel in Ballymun, the site of major fire this evening. We hope everyone is safe and well. #MetroHotelFire

It seems like inverse snobbery that somehow hotel guests lives are worth less than the homeless.

Some Twitter folks are saying that the fire is an apartment above the hotel. The footage seems to have it lower.....
Must be one of Nidge’s meth labs.

Posters are speculating on the possible causes of the fire
Nothing to do with snobbery at all

Not there tonight.

Speaking with the lads.

Everyone out.
No homeless families there.
The top floors are apartments
It seems like more than one fire bit it may have accidently spread externally.
Our ladders couldn't pump due to a combination of height and wind AND the fact they are second hand piles of shyte.

Lads doing their best to contain it but conditions difficult.
Everyone is ok though

How can you be homeless if living in a hotel courtesy of the taxpayer?

By editing my post hasn’t changed anything, you’re still a sad bastard
You, not I, are the poster stating the fire was started by cannibals cooking their meal.

We can only hope and have trust in our emergency services. Good luck to them all.
I have great respect for our emergency serviced personnel, especially DFB. The question that comes to mind is, have they the necessary and appropriate equipment to fight this fire. How high is the building?

Hope all are safely evacuated and that the firefighters are safe.

Evacuation procedures and fire alarms obviously worked well. That is good to hear.

Test fire alarms are usually indicated in advance. So this was the real deal.

Could be difficult enough with a transient population of AirB n B and hotel overnighters. Well done to FB. Good to know no injuries or worse.
