'A man accused of smuggling guns for the Real IRA has walked free from court after a judge ruled he had been wrongfully entrapped in an MI5 'sting'.'

BBC News - Real IRA plot accused entrapped by MI5 rules judge

We all know that so-called british justice has been a sham for decades but it seems lately that they've decided to stop their lying and cheating. Maybe cases like this will help the nationalist community to slowly and very carefully begin to trust the system again.

You'd have thought the MI5 would know this farce wouldn't make it through the courts. They haven't been getting much joy so they decided to stir the pot and see if they could get away with it. Eejits.

The article is a bit light on detail. How exactly were they entrapped?

When will people wake up to the fact that the Real IRA are MI5.

any evidence to substantiate such a claim? thought not
The RIRA is a concoction by MI5 to infiltrate and control republican activities in NI.
Every now an again they have to kill some of their own, but this matters not to them. Whether it be Omagh, Denis Donaldson, or the Massarene murders, MI5's signature is there for all to see.

The SRR were contracted to perform the Massarene killings no doubt. They arrived in NI and a week later there were 3 dead in cool execution style.

There has yet to be any conviction of any such RIRA member which has stuck in court. All we have is people being framed.

In Real IRA eyes, Doherty had potentially compromised himself – and therefore the entire organisation – with the security services. He was open to blackmail by MI5.

The Army Council spokesman alleges MI5 "played some role" in the drugs factory which had been set up "to blacken the IRA's name and link us to the drugs trade which we abhor and oppose".

The organisation's suspicions focus on an individual who, with Doherty, allegedly initiated the cannabis factory idea.

Kieran Doherty's murder was part of a very murky world: the secret battle for supremacy that goes on every day between British intelligence and republicans.
Brutal murder of 'one of their own' shows utter lack of mercy in Real IRA

The family of murdered Londonderry man Kieran Doherty have spoken for the first time to demand an inquiry into whether MI5 was involved in his death — and have strongly denied that the 31-year-old was involved in drugs. “Kieran was under continuous harassment by MI5 in the months before his death. Repeated attempts were made to recruit him as an informer. He rejected all these attempts. In the last few months of his life he went to the local media on more than one occasion to publicise and complain about MI5’s activities.

“Kieran was constantly followed. He believed that his phone calls and letters were being monitored. He wasn’t given a moment’s peace and was under 24/7 surveillance by MI5. We would like to know — where were the MI5 people who were monitoring his every movement on the night he was abducted and brutally murdered?”

Maybe you saoirse might give us some evidence that the RIRA actually exist outside of MI5.

People who can read between the lines however, can see that MI5 want to infiltrate and run any potential paramilitary activities before they take off.

He 'got away with it' because a judge from your beloved country deemed MI5 to have entrapped him. Can't you read?

That is an interesting perspective. No doubt the RIRA is infiltrated due to their lax security. One can see this with their many failed operations...all signs of touts working amongst them. I have read on several occasions that PSNI officers feel that the Garda control the RIRA thru their informants as opposed to MI5.

theirs always touts, but the fact is the spooks took their eye off the ball for too long, after omagh they thought itd go away, a quick glance at the imc reports show they dont have a clue, their mixing up groups, attacks, strongholds etc the fact that theirs special forces operating in fermanagh and tyrone tells you all you need to know. their able to contain things for now but theyve a very sletchy picture on whats going on

One of the defendants in this case (not Kearns) is believed by some to be an MI5 agent.

Sure...but it is all relative. The Reals have not been very successful as an insurgent movement for the last 13 years. What have they done? Omagh was an atrocity and an embarrassment to the organisation. When have they successfully targeted brits or peelers besides Massereene in 2009? They have been unable to bring any real pressure against security forces or even get them to overreact. I chalk this up to poor leadership resulting in heavy infiltration.

Question: Just how many security cameras is there around the Newry Courthouse where that car bomb exploded earlier this year -or did they all simultaneously fail, just like on the London Underground on the day of 7/7 bombings too?

Sometimes the hole spying/touting thing becomes a parody of itself - like a little complicated world of its own. Maybe they should all start over with a tabula rasa!
