TÁNAISTE EAMON GILMORE has said Ireland will use the remainder of its time as the chair of an international security group to tackle any violation of the rights of transgender people.
Ireland will work to make transgender rights an international issue – Gilmore

How much longer do we have to put up with this garbage from Gilbore? gay marriage, transgender rights - no one is disturbed by these issues any longer (even FF support gay marriage) but the Garbally Boy wants to impress the Slovenians and Slovaks etc. as some champion of tolerance and liberal values.

Eamon, start at home. What will you do about A-B-O-R-T-I-O-N? please, no crap about the "expert group". And how will you improve transgender matters in Ireland?

No wonder, Gilbore chose the Foreign Affairs portfolio. No getttiing his hands dirty with day-to-day work.
Why he too might even make onto the cover of "Time" magazine!

So anyone who questions the "inherent right" to gay marriage should be considered a human right violator? What a bunch of bullsh*t.

Gilmore needs to reorganise his priorities. Supporting minorities is all well and good, but it's all optics, TV camera fodder.

As a Deputy Prime Minister he's been a monumental failure.

I'm not fussed on attacking Gilmore here but for you to think this is impressing the Slovaks is a little mad.

This "optics" thing needs to be nipped in the bud; "optics" is a branch of physics.

Nothing personal.

Is Eamon Gilmore confused? the way hes been going on over the last few months you,d think hes the head of PACE instead of labour! No wonder the country is fu.cked when one of the partners in gov. are more obseesed with an issue that effects 3% or less of the population in this country! I reckon labour will get less than 5% in the next election

Presumably, Gimmemore will not be wasting any time trying to prevent the continued loss of money provided by the workers, to bail out the failed capitalist gamblers holding Seanie Bonds, seeing as he has such important responsibilities to fulfill ?

I mean that would be letting socialism get in the way. And he never let it distract him before.

More Labour bollix. They think they can destroy the country in the interests of the banks just so long as they look cool at dinner parties because they are in favour of lads riding one another and girls licking one another's muffins :)

(Which is sound by me I hasten to add!)

Were all parties not always a minority in the Dail during the last few decades?

If Eamon Gilmore was sincere he should simply pass legislation repealing s.2(2)e of the Civil Registration Act 2004, which requires that married couples are of different genders. If opponents of this repeal succeed in convincing the Supreme Court that the act is unconstitutional he should then spend the €17m on a referendum. The Constitutional Convention is a good idea but we elect TDs to legislate. They need to get on with it. (I presume that Labour's preference for a referendum is based on the fact that they think it will grow its support base and they accordingly hide behind unpublished legal opinions saying that a silent Constitutional provision restricts the right to marry).

Well in fairness Chez Gilmore had done remarkably well despite the fluctutating fortunes of the Official IRA, Official Sinn Féin, Workers Pary, ITGWU/SIPTU, and latterly the Labour Party.

Fair play now. He is a winner.
