'Sailing By'. Used to listen to it under the covers as a kid and think of being out in the North Sea in the pitch black darkness. I was a weird kid.

YouTube - sailing by
right - that makes more sense - its the theme tune they are talking about.
When I heard it I imagined someone being buried to the sounds of "Rockall - Gale Force winds.. Dogger Bank - steady as she goes, Irish Sea - rough as f*ck..."

My Way?
How many people actually did it ‘their way’?
If they did then they wouldn’t even be having a funeral since they would have alienated most their family, run up large gambling debts and then end up buried in the desert outside Las Vegas by a couple of mob guys. Beautiful, I tells ya.

Anyway, I wouldn't want a song being played, but if the priest twisted my arm then it would be Johnny Cash - Solitary Man.

I listened to it, and it is nice, and I was tempted but it does not cause me to change my 1st choice "I still miss someone"

My Way most popular song at funerals | Irish Examiner

The song for your funeral!!
The article mentions AC/DC (playing tonight in the Point(oops sorry the O2!!!))

Haven't quite managed to put together my funeral Top of the Pops!!

could always put it into de Will but twould be far better to let ppl know yer intentions while living methinks :D

"I dreamed myself from the sultry plains
To the old green square back in old maybole
Rode the wind up to stornaway
Paused at the peak, pacified my soul
Caught the bus at the faery fort
Made it to the mansion on the boyne
See I come around to the ancient ways
I took a tip from the buddha boy

I just found god
I just found god
I just found God where he always was

We came down from the hill of dreams
Bernadette, mother earth and you and me
Through carraroe, down the wildwood side
Blinding out eyes in the shallow seas
Drank fire with the king of the blues,
Plugged in to the medicine way
Took a long last look at crazy horse
Push now for a golden age

I just found god
I just found god
I just found God where he always was

I found myself on the roof of the world
Just waiting for to get my wings
Strange angel in the changing light
Said brother, you forgot something!
My heart beat from the inside out
So lucky just to be alive!
Can you tell what Im talking about?
Any day now the suns gonna rise

I just found god
I just found god
I just found God where he always was
I just found God where he always was"

Sod the Cheeky Girls, THAT's what I want at my funeral! 'Dogger, Fisher, German Bight...'.
Now that would be a funeral worthy of Dali.
Its the sort of thing you'd imagine Spike Milligan requesting for his funeral - that or the collected speeches of Adolf Hitler

"Going Underground" by The Jam if I'm to be buried.

"Light My Fire" by The Doors if I'm to be cremated.

"The End" by The Doors just to freak out any remaining siblings.

Right you're going out 'with a bang' then!!
Big Party Grainne, Big Party! I want everybody to dance and wreck the feckin church. I believe death is just a change of address, with a better life awaiting us so I want people to celebrate for me.

Nice way to put it/look at it :) and I appreciate that of course. I'd believe the complete opposite tbh to this but personally that's just me and each totally to their own.
