Don't post unless you have something relevant to say.
Listen, child.

For the past five days this (political) website has been saturated to spill with comments good, bad, stupid, intelligent, incisive, militant, sad, embarrassed, regretful, arrogant, decisive and utterly moronic about this case.

There's an investigation going on. Two or three actually.

Now why don't you fold up your tent, put away the carefully prepared speech and go have a drink.

Nothing new can be said. Even by you.

The X Case ruling provides for abortion where a womans life is at risk.

Anything further than that would require a new referendu.
I know. Your OP calls for legislation that goes way further than that.

It's a protest for abortion on demand.
I think if the march is in fact for abortion on demand, well in this case it would appear to be hijacking the unfortunate death of this woman from India. Haven't being posting at all on these threads, until this one, but if what you say is true, well this protest is in bad taste.

Yes. Savita died because she was denied an abortion.

Her father has called for the introduction of abortion legislation.

We are calling for the passing of laws implementing the X Case ruling.
Who is "We" exactly? Time to come clean about your interests.

At this stage only the X Case legislation could be passed. The OP recognises that a referendum would be necessary to do anything further.

Jebus what's with all the hostility here? Ramon's advertising a new event in the Events Forum, what's wrong with that? Moreover, given successive governments' inaction vis-a-vis legislation pertaining to this issue over the past 20 years it's hardly surprising many wish to keep this issue very much in the public eye.

As to "exploitation", what are people supposed to do if they're appalled at what happened to Savita & want what they perceive to be the legislation responsible for her death overturned?

You apparently are a spokesman for them. How many 'events' are you planning?

We're not going away.

The people who turned out on Saturday weren't morons.

The X Case will be legislated for so maybe you should go away, foetus.

They want the 1861 law banning abortion struck down and the 8th amendment (right to life of the unborn) repealed. That is a call for abortion on demand.

They are shamelessly exploiting Savita's death to further their abortion on demand agenda.

Savita was left in pain without treatment for three days.

Its not going away.
Nor should it. However, for it to result with abortion on demand introduced into Ireland would be wrong without consulting the Irish people first.

The 8th amendment could do with being repealed. It's been problematic from it's inception and has needed multiple referendums to tweak. It's quite obviously a not very well thought out piece of legislation.

Her father is alsi calling for the introduction of abortion. If you want to know how far he'll go then maybe write a letter to the Hindustan Times.

The only thing that can be introduced noe is legislation for the X Case ruling.

Anything else would require another referendum. That is cllearly acknowledged in the OP. It calls for the eventual repeal of the 8th Amendment. That would another campaign entirely.
