The result is due to be announced tomorrow with the result said to be neck and neck with some commentators giving it to Ed rather than David.
I hope Milli D rather than Milli Ed wins as David is more electable and credible- Ed is another Gordon Brown and that is not good.
Ed wrote the Labour manifesto for the last election and look at how effective that was - lost nearly 100 seats one of the worst results in the party's history. Ed would be a disaster

Cameron will be very relieved if Eddie becomes leader of the Labour party, is he another Michael Foot style socialist this Ed Miliband fella.

The Labour party's voting process (MPs, then members of the party, then union sympathisers) makes it notoriously difficult to predict the outcome of the leadership election, so I'd really be wary of any commentators calling it any way.

That said I'd agree that the Blairite David is much more electable than the Brownite Ed, perhaps Gordon's dourness rubbed off on him.

The Eds Have It, The Eds Have It

It has to be Ed Milliband who is elected Leader, David is waaaaay too geeky.

Ed is more of a charmer than people give him credit for. He has brains, flare and an eye for detail. He will drop new Labour like a hot potato and hopefully go down like a lead balloon in middle England and allow the Tories to romp home in the next General Election without the Looney Liberals :)

Nice guy, but not what Labour needs to win. So I hope he gets the leadership cause the Tories will have nothing to fear. Foot, Kinnock, Milliband ..... left, left, left .....

DO you think he might be posturing to get the job????????????
Perhaps but Ed Miliband will be closely alligned to the trade unions than his brother. All Cameron needs to do is plot the centrist course that he has been doing so far as PM and he will get reelected at the next election.

If Ed wins it basically gets Cameron re-elected. It would be a terrible pick, and would immediately put the moderate Labour section on collision course with it's union backers.

More a case of .....right...shuffle...right...shuffle...right...shuffle...fall on your face.
Wait...do you think Labour lost the election because they lost the left?

Didn't one of the Milibands warn a few months ago that Labour could spend a long time in opposition, well if Ed becomes leader they'll be a while in opposition. Also Cameron is no right winger, he's a centrist Tory so he won't frighten off undecided voters.

It doesn't matter which of the two brothers win, the differences between them will be cosmetic and they have agreed to offer a major position to the other if either of them win (thus effectively blocking out voter choice and actually demonstrating that the difference is cosmetic).

If one of them must win however then let it be Ed, David is a sinister character - a war hawk, a promotor of torture, a Zionist - it sees amazing that one of Blair's discredited acolytes should have survived that period with his credibility somehow intact to contest the leadership of his party, i guess he is 'charmed' like his supporter Peter Mandelson who they couldn't get rid of if they wanted to (ie it won't flush).

They're different shades of the same colour so it really doesn't matter who gets elected because they look and act alike. I suppose David is more charismatic so I would expect him to barely win.

I doubt..

They are both right-wing hacks - tweedledum and tweedledummer.
I doubt they are right-wing hacks, given the roots. Example Their dad is true red (labour) when they are 12 he wrote letter to them about socialism. At the age of 12, most of their summer jobs in labour campaigns.

their mother has campaigned locally for nursery schools, and for human rights overseas, and is a leading member of the Jews for Justice for Palestinians group.
BBC News - Newsnight - What influence did Ralph Miliband have on his sons?

I wouldn't bother, Thranduil and Ruaidhri don't actually know anything about the election, or the candidates apparently.

David Milliband is a racing cert to win the leadership of the Labour Party.

The Liberal Democrats will be absolutely decimated at the next elections. Going into coalition with the tories was political suicide.

It may not be decided on the first count so don't rule out his brother.

Except Ed's 1-2 with the bookies and has been tipped to have the votes this week by the Times and Guardian. Seriously why are people who haven't paid any attention to the election highlighting their ignorance?
