Newsnight are just gaining access to Cameron's speech on the EU tomorrow.

Basically David Cameron is promising a referendum to UK citizens on the EU (could be a basic in/out . . .although I'd doubt that) if the Conservatives are reelected in 2015.

Just started.

Former Belgium PM, Verhofstadt has basically told Newsnight that Cameron can take a run and jump regarding his renegotiation demands.

He's also stating that 2015 will see the EU go down he road of further integration. This could also be our opportunity to jump off this sinking ship.

George Eustace (Tory MP) is responding to Verhofstadt by saying that "it's really unacceptable that countries would not talk to the UK"

Deluded.

No chance of that happening.

So now are all the "Leave the EU" heads on this site about to become closet Tories?

This will be fun..........

I don't agree. The U.K. won't be the only one hat will be sceptical of further integration, Sweden, Demark, Finland etc. will also be very uncomfortable on that. We could see an alliance of the Nordics and the British Isles in the face of the Franco/German axes.

Interesting that the next report is about the UKs dwindling military power. . . There's something ironic about that.

Resistance is futile. The train has left the station. Destination a Federal States of Europe. I oppose but accept that there is no way out!

British Isles? What have the Shetland islands got to do with anything?

Social cohesion could be eroded further by the arrival of hundreds of thousands of Bulgarians and Romanians from 2014 on.
