When are the Catholic and other Christian Conservatives who vote Fine Gael going to catch themselves on.

Well it will separate the those who are sincere about their belief from those who are merely going along, because everyone else is doing. Surely that is a good thing for all concerned.

Why should denominational religion be promoted in schools owned by the State?
Why should denominational religion not be promoted is schools owned by a religious denomination?

Give to Caesar what are Caesar's and to God what are God's.

A rush to far only turns people of faith against the State. There are many people who put God as a Higher power than the State but still have respect for both. That takes baby steps.

On the contrary, it's precisely what some folk have struggled very hard to avoid.

How about each school votes on whether to keep it or not.
With the parents as the only voters.

I think many parents would rather let the school try to explain the nonsense of religion than have to do it themselves.

Personally, I think segregation of children on the basis of their parents' beliefs, or on the sincerity of their parents' beliefs about the supernatural, makes no sense at all.

Who are they to vote for? FF? SF?

This is excellent news!
FF of course, you had to jump ship after the last GE, one wonders are you going to have to do the same after the next one. I'm beginning to wonder if your support doesn't jinx political parties.
