Interesting piece in Telegraph about prison camps in North Korea, which can be seen on Google Earth.

One estimate is that there are 200,000 prisoners in the camps (along with 200,000 in 'ordinary prisons) but it could be more than that and many of the regime's factories are operated as virtual prisons anyway with the workers there to all intents and purposes state slaves.

If you look closely at one of the Guard Posts, you can see Cael keeping guard.

They really to the whole job bridge thing to its extreme there! In fairness it's probably a 'vocation' for many of them.

North Korea isn't any sort of Socialist state, there is nothing there which is worth preserving. Its Feudalism with Korean Characteristics.

Your having a laugh, twitters for twits.
China is just as bad but yet we trade with them and our dear leaders butt kiss and grovel to them at every chance.I'd like to open a"camp" in every county.GAA fields would do as a stopgap measure until a more permanent solution could be reached.

All joking aside, North Korea is IMO the most evil state in our midst. It is a bright green snot on the modern world. Would love to see Ireland depart from the "asylum" system (99% of whom are illegal immigrants) and just say: North Koreans? Come to Ireland. It is a timber in the eye of every democratically elected leader. The only soviet necrocracy to exist. A state more worthy of anasthesia that Pak. And that's saying something. Talk about lost potential.

China has as bad a history as North Korea in terms of murdering its own citizens and still has a large number of political prisoners and slave labourers so it is a valid comparison.

The North Koreans operate a kind of caste system whereby the family you're born into defines how you'll progress the rest of your life.

Sure thats nothing. Come to Ireland, they actually ask the people to vote again if they don't get the answer they want the first time. A glorious republic for sure.

You really can't compare North Korea to holding a second referendum in Ireland.

By the way, I voted No on both occasions.

North Korea is in a class all of its own as possibly the worst run country on earth.

Yeah Ireland is far worse. Sure in North Korea they don't even ask people to vote once.
