Here's a good one to start the thread off.

MILLIONS of pounds promised in the Fresh Start agreement to promote integrated education in Northern Ireland is to be kept by the UK Treasury after it was left unspent. (£47 million)

The Stormont House and Fresh Start Agreements included plans to invest up to £50m a year, for 10 years, on unsegregated schooling.
Almost all of £50 million pot for shared education returned to Treasury - The Irish News

Well they've called it a day rather than face the challenges that Brexit presents them. Incapable of governing themselves it seems.

Sounds bad but seeing as the money was ring fenced for future projects that had no planning and in some case's no land purchase timescale was/is a big issue...

SF position on tax relief for charity shops: DFP should bring forward proposals to reform the charitable exemption.

Targeting charity shops may lead to premises that would otherwise be
occupied becoming vacant, further reducing footfall and increasing the decline of the high street.

As usual attack the weak, is this how they intend to pay for the decrease the corporation tax?

The reduction in CT was always subject to affordability - brexit makes it all moot now.

If that is so, why was this put on Invest Ni website on 24th Jan 2017?

Corporation Tax
It has been agreed subject to affordability. There is no legislation to give effect to a reduction in 2018.

Brexit makes it all rather moot now, anyhow. May has signalled a UK wide CT reduction.

I disagree. Religion just hasn't been tried properly. You can be sure that anyone that identifies themselves as Christian (of any hue) is guaranteed to be a tosser. Ffs, take a look at any abortion thread.

The conflict in the north was brought about by one community exerting supremacy over the other.

The remnants of the supremacy are being dismantled causing political resistance from the rump of what remains of the orange state.

How does any government dismantle segrated education? We can't even get the CC to divest even a few schools here.

No government has the right to tell parents what school they should send their kids to.

A demographic map of the north illustrates the segregation of society so do government start telling people where to live ? That's the path social engineering ends up going down.

Bigotry begins and ends in the home. No teacher in any school, teaches their kids to be bigots.

Bigotry is a problem of upbringing not education.

Political leadership is the first step to ending it, much the same way racism accepted by society decades ago is no longer tolerated.

It was all going along nicely until we came to "Political leadership is the first step to ending it,"
We don't have any of that sort of stuff.

TBF here Marcella, I believe all political parties are agreed in an agreement to end such medieval practices in the future.....bar DUP of course.

Obviously RHI is the current demonstration of incompetence. But there are plenty more.

In 2014, the Northern Ireland Audit Office revealed that a new hospital in Fermanagh will rack up £488 million (€574m) in interest payments over 30 years due to the ludicrous way it was financed. Despite the almost identical sums to RHI and the far more emotive topic of direct waste to the National Health Service, this was met with little more than a shrug.

Then we had an estimated 100 Million EU fines incurred by The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The British government is behind all this mad of funding public buildings.
