Uh the UK survived quite happily before the EU came along; England, Wales and the Republic of Ireland don't need the EU. Why is it that you people believe that you can only function properly belonging to a massive power bloc? Have you no faith in your own people?
Because we like to have full access to the largest single market in the world right at our doorstep
And not have to be chasing trade deals with all kinds of dodgy regimes half way around the world

The EU is a bit more than the Common Market was lad.

So, as a teenager in the 80's you probably found Frank Bough, Patrick Moore, Tommy from Cannon and Ball, Nicholas Parsons and Robert Kilroy Silk as total w@nk material.
Did you never consider electric shock therapy?
;)
I was not a teenager until the 90s thank you!

And no to all the above, they still had to be good looking!

Over 200 nations have access to the Single Market.
I doubt they'll let Iran, Russia and North Korea have access and keep Old Blighty out.
Considering the Krauts gave Greece a bunch of dodgy loans due to dodgy books and then tore them apart as "incompetent" while placing them under economic arrest for the next while makes me doubt that they will be too merciful to these latest upstarts.

If the UK get a sweet deal for giving the EU the two fingers (when really it is more the UK establishment, not so much the EU) then why would the other EU nations not just pick and choose which parts of the Union suit them?

If the Krauts do not set a bloody precedent, the Union will collapse.

Which despite its many calamitous failings would, on the whole, not be a great thing.

The UK included all of these islands and had an empire up to less than 100 years ago.

That included a quarter of the population of the globe.

That was a much bigger power block than the EU.

In contrast to the EU most of the people in the British empire did not have democratic rights.
