Few details as yet but needless to say everyone is on high alert. They were seemingly hit with explosives but that has not been confirmed. According to the link the two are adrift in the gulf of Oman and on fire. Last week the Houthis claimed they damaged 2 Saudi tankers.

There always going to be a faction who want war. Even Trump admitted this when he said the military-industrial complex goal is an endless war. I suspect these attacks are done by rogue factions in middle east perhaps even in the United States trying to kick start a war against Iran.

The price of oil has gone up today since this occurrence the beneficiaries would then seem to be US/Saudi oil elites with the former obviously having a very recently increased military presence in the area and sophisticated weaponry.

There are hawks in both Iran and the US so an Iranian role here is not wildly implausible. If so, it’s a major escalation.

Far from being implausible, it's by far the most likely possibility. Once again these attacks were first trumpeted on Hezbollah's TV station and repeated quickly on Iranian TV with embellishments about the ships sinking. The Iranians are sending a message about their ability to wage asymmetrical war in the event of an American attack,
