Historically, there has been so much inbreeding in this country its surprising that our levels of physical and mental disability are not way higher - bad enough though it is.

Ireland has a very high rate of genetic abnormalities eg cystic fibrosis, hemochromatosis and spina bifida due to a reduced breeding pool.

The fact that Stone Age genes are so prominent here indicates how narrowly and closely Irish people are related.

Its rather disgusting, and explains why incest has traditionally been ignored.
