The European Union is to spend €4,5 million to build two museums in the North. These museums are to promote better understanding and tolerance of this bigoted organisation.

The Orange Order has announced plans to build two museums in Northern Ireland at a cost of £3.6 million (€4.5m).

The aim of the project is to promote better understanding and increased tolerance of its organisation.

Funding for the museums is coming from the EU's Peace III Programme and it will be spent on the projects in Belfast and Armagh.

More like a PR stunt to make a collection of hardliners look all nice and fluffy.

Will they take customers from Tayto Park and Disneyland ?

sounds like a good idea to me. lots of organisations have shady pasts but became respectable establishments. lets get rid of the confrontation and the us & them. instead lets have an orange order which contributes to quality of life for both sides of the community

wouldnt it be a good thing if the orange marches of northern ireland became a non-confrontational affair, which catholics and protestants all participate in and look forward to ? a fun family friendly atmosphere on the streets, parades all around the place, big night on the beer afterwards.. sounds a long way off but it'd be something if it every happened like this

Why are we part funding this sh1te?
They fund sh1te like the gaa and gaeilge too, so I guess it's all part of the Ireland of equals that we both get to fund sh1te we don't want.

Great to see even more multi-million pound investment in the Orange. petunia
