"In a separate spring event, the Order will discuss its coverage in the media, which is often connected to sectarianism and violence and intimidation linked to Orange walks.

Recent controversies include photos from a fancy dress party at an Orange Order hall showing people dressed as Nazis, holocaust victims and Catholic clergy.

The Orange Torch says: “The baleful attitude of much of the Scottish media towards the Order, and how to tackle it, will form the basis of a media & public relations seminar in the spring.

“The event is expected to take the form of a ‘how others see us’ forum led by a professional PR consultant. It will be a hotel-based all day conference for officers of Grand Lodge, County Grand Lodge and other leading figures.”"

Is Shankill Butcher, serial killer, mass murderer and Orange Order member Eddie McIlwaine to launch this charm offensive?

I honestly do not know of that many events in Scotland which are connected to sectarianism and violence? Could the Scottish media be taking their view because of the actions of the Orange order in Northern Ireland?

They have had trouble connected with OO marches in Scotland a good few times.

"THERE was the usual expected trouble when supporters of the Orange Order took to the streets of Glasgow yesterday for their annual Battle of the Boyne commemorations, with several arrests after ugly drunken brawls.

But it was the unexpected General Election result and the deal between the Tories and the hardline DUP, that seemed upper most in the minds of Orangemen yesterday. Keeping their hangers-on in line, wasn't as important as triumphalism."

I agree but its of a much less crazy than the likes of Drumcree and Twaddel.

A lot of the bad publicity for the Orange order comes from Northern Ireland. In the Twaddel protests you had the Orange order attacking policemen from Britian on the streets of Belfast.

And to think I said you were OCD on the Orange order, yet you say they serve nice tea and biscuits in that hall.
