It seems Paddy Agnew of the Irish Times has had a rough time from the Irish Times. He was on a salary of just €50k pa, then it was cut to €20 or less. He was summoned to meet last editor and offered new contract which restricted him badly. Result of all this is he has got the chop and has not written for IT since last March. Bad way to treat a journalist after many years of good service. Paddy seemed a decent guy, I think he is a Northern Presbyterian, but he seemed impartial and fair at all times. Things must be very bad at Irish Times whom he is suing in the Italian courts system- surprised its not in Dublin he takes his case.

I was wondering why he hadn't had a by line in a while. Odd move by the Times.
