It seems members of the Parachute regiment videod themselves using a picture of Jeremy Corbyn as a target.

Naturally this has caused shock among many people who like and respect Mr Corbyn.

Hopefully if Jeremy becomes Prime Minister he will abolish this hateful regiment.

Very surprised at that...in the true tradition of the parachute regiment the photo would be of Jeremy Corbyn as a child....and from behind.

Generally not a fan of the paras, but on this occasion they are to be commended

I have no doubt that this sort of nonsense is deeply embedded in their 'traditions'. The investigation will be about who videoed and uploaded it. Nothing will change.

Meh! many here would be perfectly happy (rightly!) to see Boris Johnson, Michael Gove and Jacob Rees Mogg used for target practise.

If it is possible for this to look any worse, the footage apparently comes from the compound loft in Kabul, where the parachute regiment practises "Guardian Angel drills", to protect VIPs.

The former soldiers who circulated the video on Snapchat are now claiming it is clearly photoshopped, and was simply intended as a private joke, but was leaked. The MoD on the other hand is treating it as legitimate, and has launched an investigation. There are lots of questions here, not least the timing of the "leak", if "leak" it was.

The Parachute regiment have issued a statement, saying the video does not show Jeremy Corbyn firing at them first.

The officer who arranged that or was supervising should be cashiered. It is not the role of army officers to make overt or covert political statements.

Putting a picture of the leader of the opposition on targets is good enough for a career-halter. I wouldn't bother with the troops as they aren't paid to be intelligent.

Another plus for Sinn Fein and the Peace-Process was that the Armed Para dirt was removed from our streets- it’s a pity that the Muslims nations had to put up with them until they were eventually kicked off the streets of Iraq and Afghanistan- they are big in the head but after the locals fight back they leave with their tails between their legs to open fire on election posters in a bunker- it’s what they are now reduced to-

The regiment exists as "shock troops", airborne infantry, to be used in frontline invasions. What they were ever doing on the streets of N Ireland is anyone's guess, and you may draw the logical inference.

I am suspicious of the Jeremy Corbyn story, not because I put it beyond the paras, (I put little beyond them) but because it emerged on social media. And cui bono?

People seem surprised at their actions...why?

"There are good reasons why soldiers seemed so excited to see – and be seen with – Britain’s most notorious bigot"

What "people?"

Not posters on here.

Not the MoD who are carrying out an investigation.

Not the inhabitants of Aldershot, who know all about the "rude and licentious soldiery".

Exactly who is "surprised",Jim?

Many many people who haven't a clue about their past or present.
It's hard to name the tens of thousands 'exactly' who are ignorant and surprised at their behaviour....like it or not people are surprised...many are not.

Well they are keeping their shock well under wraps. They must never have even played "Call of Duty".

I despise Corbyn. But he could be PM. Which would be horrific.

But any Soldier pointing a gun at a pic of an elected British politician is outrageous. And I'd include SF pre ceasefire in that.

So much mud has been thrown at J.C by the Tories and their media pals.
