Ahern associate won't reveal pay as charity CEO - National News - Independent.ie

Another insider of Aherns who does not wish to disclose the largesse granted to him as CEO over 20 years, also sat on the Board of that wonderful semi-state company, CIE, another example of Ahern appointing his friends to Boards wherever possible.

Would presume the HSE have copies of CRC's accounts and they should demand that Kiely's package should be disclosed fully particularly as the article states they have given them 30m in just the last 2 years of austerity.

"Board chairman Hamilton Goulding also refused to reveal Mr Kiely's salary details.

Mr Ahern noted afterwards that Mr Kiely had "knocked on every door in Dublin Central on my behalf umpteen times".

Of course Kiely knocked on every door, over and over, hand across a few leaflets, the best paid leaflet distributor in the State, any State.

"Asked about the fees paid to Mr Kiely by the semi-state agency, a CRC spokeswoman said that he was abroad on a CRC fundraising trip to Burma".

Last time I heard about Burma, would say they are 5 times worse off than dear old Irl.

This thread dropped through like a stone, perhaps an indication people are fed up with Ahern's friends, they are everywhere

Stanley is raking up the dirt again.

Funny how DAA Bars and all the claims he made have bitten the dust................

Never mind the failed Bank Clerk needs something to do.

At this stage there is no alternative or substitute to open and transparent government, after all that's happened over the decades: enslavement of girls who got into trouble, TDs making collections in return for planning permissions, bishops hiding, aiding and abbetting paedophiles among children under their care, taoiseach and friends with their Caribean bank accounts, and now the state bust and nobody (ahem, cough) knows the full story. Is it that simply the government that is dysfunctional or is it we the people too?

Parents 'disgusted' that charity cash used to top-up senior salaries - Independent.ie

Look who is at the centre of the latest scandal, another one of Bertie's friends, Paul Kiely, these guys were given the nod by Bertie to do as they please and they did.

"Former CRC chief executive Paul Kiely, who got €136,000 from the charity fund before his recent retirement, was also on a state salary of €106,900".

Kiely should be explaining himself to a Judge, all pension entitlements since he joined CRC should be reversed as well as others who enjoyed his largesse., "how long must we sing this song"

Fair play stanley, from November 2012, you were spot on about this one.

The state can't even run a clinic without lining their own pockets.

Fianna Fail is big in the old charity business----They were corrupt in Govt. and now we find them heavily involved in the charity industry----they should be obliterated from the political arena and never allowed to return.

A bunch of pimps and parasites, the lot of them...

Hate to say it, but make it illegal to pay non-exec board members fees, and this would just go away as a problem...

Rights activist Donal Tolan said political will is required to ensure organisations like the CRC fully outline all sources of funding.
"It beggars belief that there hasn't been a political will to require accountability in terms of if I'm giving you funding, whether you're a theatre or you're a disability service, you have to be able to say to me what other funds or resources that you have," he said.
Parents 'disgusted' at CRC top-ups - RTÉ News

Donal does live in Ireland.
