Petrol stations have up their prices already. Last time I was at pump it was roughly 1.34. It was going up by four cents.
Are we being stung again. Always seem to happen.

Yep, the 'gouge em at every opportunity' merchants are still out there... shop around is the only answer.
Pumps.ie - Ireland's fuel price website
I'm wondering if a community can club together to get a preferential price from a supplier, not just for petrol, but heating oil and the likes.

This is being zooed unless you source the above or mention exactly which station is @ 1.40. Try to make some effort at an OP.

Actually -I observed fuel prices creeping up by about 4-5 cent all over the place over the last 2 weeks - in advance of the budget.

Havent been watching the crude oil market - have barrel prices been going up or is this the usual winter "supply and demand" spike - cold winter etc etc?

Amazing. They have pushed it up two cents since this morning. Average is now 145 cents. That seems to be an increase of roughly ten cents since the beginning of the month.

Sorry Zone you have been given your information. Why is this thread still in Zoo. This will have huge implications for the transference of goods.

Outside of the 4 cent excise/vat hike in the last number of weeks the barrel has topped $90 from the early 80's and the greenback has gone from circa 1.40 to 1.30-33 to the €. All of which adds on another few cents.

I did hear on the evening of the Budget that prices would be 1.40 the next day. Topped up the car. Haven't been by a pump since.

I must be deaf. I thought we were going back to 2007 price levels and trying to regain competiveness in the economy.

Do you regain it by increasing petrol & diesel prices :(
