Police Youth Commissioner is an admitted racist, drug user and homophobe. Does anyone screen interviewees any more?

Police Youth Commissioner is an admitted racist, drug user and homophobe. Does anyone screen interviewees any more?

KENT’S first youth police commissioner is facing calls to quit after tweets in which she boasted about her sex life, drug taking and drinking binges were revealed.

Violent, racist and anti-gay comments were also posted on the Twitter account of 17-year-old Paris Brown @vilulabelle This Twitter account has since been removed
So she has, over the course of the last year, tweeted about wanting to "Cut everyone around her", encouraged an assault, called people on tv shows "fags", admitted to being racist and doing drugs.

The idiot who hired her is standing by her, saying that she's matured. Over the last 2 months.

People are idiots, and people are racist/sexist whatever. But this is a job. It's a job that pays 15,000 tax payers money a year. Why in the name of Jesus would you not do even the most basic check online before hiring someone? All this information was out there. Wouldn't a candidate for the role of this sort who admits to committing crimes and being racist be eliminated at the first hurdle?

Barnes' doesn't think so.

The PCC said she did not think she had made a mistake by appointing Paris, who went through a "proper recruitment process" and vetting by the force.

Saw the interview on BBC News with her earlier. Pretty cringeworthy. Everyday I'm more thankful that twitter and facebook didn't exist when I was a teenager.

WTF is a Police Youth Commissioner anyway? The Brits sure are good at creating useless public sector jobs out of thin air. It's like these new elected "Police Commissioners" they have that don't actually have any meaningful powers. The Chief Constable, appointed by Whitehall, still has all the powers. Gobshytes!

Apart from the drug use she will fit in nicely in the constabulary.
Seriously though, this is a bad mistake if true.
Any links to the racist, violent or homophobic statements?
What exactly is her role as a youth commissioner?

I'd like to know if a Yoof Commissioner is even necessary in the first place?

And they needed to give some chav 15 grand to do that? I can see why the Tories are considered the party of financial prudence.
The Tories think it's a dumb idea to begin with and have called for her to quit. The money's coming from the PCC's pocket.

Sky News and the Sunday mail have them : Teen Crime Commissioner In Offensive Tweet Row

The plan is for her to provide a link between the yoof and police.
And do what, exactly make them respect the cops?
Idiotic idea even though she does seem to represent exactly the kind of twit the cops are having trouble with.
It seems like the kind of idea some PR imbecile thought up because it would make shallow thinking people feel something was being done.

She is very young, mentally undeveloped and is a bit of an eejit as a result.
She should be let go but it certainly shouldn't be held against her in future; I would probably have been deported if I twittered my thoughts at 16-17 years of age (except I wouldn't have been stupid enough to have, even then).

She won't be let go, the role was set up by the PCC candidate, it's her big idea. To back down like this now would be pretty devastating for her.

What she should have done was cut her the second the tweets were made public and jump to the next candidate (After checking their bloody details properly) saying that one bad apple doesn't invalidate the process.

Too late now.

I predict that all politicians in the future will be seriously compromised by a cyber footprint. Big Brother is everyone only now it's not the state spying on us, it's the social media and we're entirely complicit with it.

A ridiculous position and a ridiculous waste of money. Putting a teenager in such a position is to invite disaster and it has duly arrived.

In a generation it will be accepted that people did dumb ass stuff in their childhood/teens etc. and that they shared much of it on 'social media'...

For the transitional generation it's hard to understand...

But give it 20 years or so and it will be accepted as a right of passage and nothing out of the ordinary to have been a total idiot and to have shared it with all and sundry...

With regards to this particular job/position/appointment etc... strikes me as a load of boll*cks tbh...

WHY didn't they do the most basic check? Probably for the same reason that the BBC did not do the most basic check on their "witness" Steven Messham before they libelled Lord McAlpine as a paedophile. This is what the late Richard Webster had to say about Messham in an article published in The New Statesman in February 1999

The next witness to appear on the programme was Steven Messham. He said that on one occasion, when he had been in the sick-bay with blood pouring from his mouth, he had been buggered by Howarth as he lay in bed. He said that on another occasion he was asked to take a hamper of food to Howarth’s flat, where he was buggered by Howarth over the kitchen table.

What the BBC did not tell us was that Messham claims he was sexually abused by no less than 49 different people. He also says he has been physically abused by 26 people. In 1994 the Crown Prosecution Service declined to bring his allegations against Howarth to court. None of his allegations has ever resulted in a conviction. In 1995 one of his most serious sexual allegations was rejected by a jury after barristers argued that it was a transparent fabrication.

The article is called "What the BBC Did Not tell Us" and at first glance you might think that it was about the McAlpine fisco. But in fact Richard Webster died 2 years ago and he was writing about a programme broadcast by BBC2 in January 1999 called "A Place of Safety", about alleged sexual and physical abuse in children’s homes in North Wales. He pointed out that Messhan and others were totally unreliable witnesses. His article is still available on the Internet (and was at the time of the McAlpine fiasco) but the BBC did not bother to do the most basic check.

So it's hardly surprising that the authorities did not bother to check out this lady since the appointment of a Police Youth Commissioner is obviously a much LESS important issue!

Incidentally the British ruling class were once arrogant but competent - they had to be in order to rule an Empire. Now they are just degenerate and they embrace yobs and imbeciles.

So the BBC used the evidence of a liar and criminal to libel a former treasurer of the Conservative Party under Margaret Thatcher and the Police Commissioner for Kent appoints a yob as Youth Police Commissioner. And neither even bothered to do a search on the Internet beforehand.

Bring back the days when the ruling class possessed normal competence and self-respect. Because their actions affect everybody else!
