Yes folks just when you thought well at least we the People can decide who we elect as we judge their policies...

- well apparently not

It appears that the real target of this moratorium on further adds is Hermann Kelly of the Irish Freedom Party whose money has now been returned by the Company that oversees the adds on CIE - in this instance Dublin Bus.

CIE bars political advertising on trains and buses
Public-transport provider CIE has stopped accepting political advertising on all its trains and buses pending a review of policy.

Exterion Media, which manages and operates the semi-state company’s advertising, confirmed it had been told by CIE to decline any new bookings.
Among those to have bookings refused are the Irish Freedom Party, which wanted to launch 30 bus adverts tomorrow. Hermann Kelly, the party’s candidate for the European parliament in the Dublin constituency, said €5,000 he paid towards the campaign was returned last week.

If this is not political censorship then what is?

Ask Big Brother.....

Wouldn't be an issue if it was FFG spouting their propaganda on the side of buses. You only have to pull back the curtains a tad to see freedom of information and expression is dead in this country.

The timing is appaling, but CIE are right. When the bus drivers objected to a large Gemmeroid we established CIE had no control over what ads Exterion sold, and they were subject to no standards. That is an unsustainable situation without any oversight.

It should not have taken bus drivers objecting to a nutter that goes against CIE policies on everything, but glad they got there

No bus drivers were objecting

- the Trade Unionist was objecting.

So instead you're sporting the logo of a party that you cannot support in an election you cannot vote in.

That has to be the ultimate in futility.

You have no problem with Liverpool FC bringing in players from all around the world to work for them.

But if a building company wants to hire civil engineers from abroad you go nuts.
