Another promise has been broken ...

Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Donald Trump, said Sunday that the president would not be releasing his tax returns, reversing months of repeated campaign-trail promises to do so after an audit is completed.

Conway's comments came in response to a Whitehouse.gov petition with more than 200,000 signatures calling on Trump to release his tax returns. Any petition on the site that receives 100,000 signatures in 30 days receives a response from the White House; this petition reached twice that in two days.

"The White House response is that he's not going to release his tax returns," Conway said in an interview on ABC's "This Week.

"We litigated this all through the election. People didn't care," she said.

Um, a White House petition that meets the criteria means people do care.

There is a word for this - Putinesque. Multiple polls showed a majority of Americans believe Trump should release his tax returns, including an ABC News/Washington Post survey out last week that found three-fourths of Americans believe he should release them.

Be some craic seeing the hoops the Trumpabelles jump through trying to have a pop at anyone of our homegrown heroes who has accounts in the Caymens or reside elsewhere for tax purposes on other threads.....

We know what they get and most of the rest we can find through SIPO or by checking out their expenses. Their own finances are only relevant when they have been found not to be paying their fair share.

You'd wonder why refusal to clear yourself of fraud isn't an impeachable offence.

I suppose that's what happens in the alternative universe we slipped into last week.

Surprise surprise... not...

His base doesn't care anyway...

They seem to admire the fact that he boasts about avoiding taxes which means they pay more...

You couldn't make this sh!t up if you tried.

It shows how even America has a long way to go to protect its institutions from a shameless chancer who makes it to the Presidency. At some point post-Trump, laws will be have to passed, if necessary by constitutional amendment, requiring Presidential candidates to disclose:

1. All health records.

2. Tax returns for at least ten years.

3. All business interests, again going back 10 years.

4. A blind trust plan.

Even this mightn't have stopped Trump.

Yawn.

Nobody cares.

Just get over Hillary already ya muppet. She's ok with her money from the Clinton Foundation and all.

She's laughing at sycophantic sheep like you all the way to the bank.
