What evidence do you need?
Turnout was just over 40%, the lowest turnout ever for a presidential election.

You're just trolling now.
What percentage would turnout be if everyone who could vote, voted?

Why then did SF contest the election? WHY DID THEY WASTE TIME AND MONEY ON A NO HOPER, who may have made herself unelectable in this country because of her and her party's lies.

Well, for one thing, it made all the other parties do the same.

Ha ha, the midget in the mansion made me laugh with his Christmas message. Basically, the millionaire landlord is talking out of both sides of his orifices. I doubt he'll spare a thought for the homeless at Christmas as he shovels foie gras down his throat.
And the invitations for Christmas dinner at the Aras for his friends in the Travelling comunity must have got lost in the post.........

Not exactly great literature, is it? But then look at the type of morons here and elsewhere who consider Higgins an "intellectual". They are thick enough to lap up Higgins' verbal diarrhoea and ask for more. His type don't give a damn about the poor and the homeless unless they can make money off them.

If you are cuddling up to Lagertha, a piece that it is, that only goes to show how no one is ever going to listen to your "brilliant insights" you big goose :)

Really? It had the lowest turnout in the history of the State. Even lower than the first State Presidential election when only 1 candidate ran.
The election in 1938 was uncontested. There was no turnout.

One of the benefits of Ryanair being unionised is that President Higgins and his wife flew with them to Gran Canaria in the last day or two. Would never have happened previously.

No, he's perfectly consistent. I have never flown Ryanair up to now but would have no qualms now that they allow staff to be represented by a trade union.
I doubt very much that was his rational for it........more like if he had used the govt jet to go to the Canaries there would have been uproar.
