I doubt very much that was his rational for it........more like if he had used the govt jet to go to the Canaries there would have been uproar.
I think that he, like many trade unionists, has never flown Ryanair up to now. I personally know dozens, if not hundreds, in the same position.

One of the benefits of Ryanair being unionised is that President Higgins and his wife flew with them to Gran Canaria in the last day or two. Would never have happened previously.
Does anyone seriously believe he flew with Ryanair because of unions? He couldn't risk using the private jet this close to the Oireachtas audit of his personal allowance later this month. He tried to hide a lot of extravagant spending under vague categories but the truth will out when the full audit takes place and we see what was spent on what and when.

I, for one, believe that to be the case. It is also the case with many more people. Think you'll find that the president has flown with many commercial airlines in the past, but no anti-union ones.

Will that many people care though? Will Michael D pay any price? I doubt it.

You must be well informed to know all that,i reckon if you keep complaining they might hold the election again.

I take it he also has never turned up at the opening of an American multinational or attended the Young scientist exhibition in that case ?

Are you that naive that you think he flies with Ryanair for personal business? The only other time he took a Ryanair flight was when he was first elected. Those morons who were defending his entitlement to use the Government jet as a personal taxi service were arguing that he couldn't possibly be expected to slum it on Ryanair, yet now that the public have made it clear that they are disgusted by him he's suddenly flying with Ryanair. The lowest turnout for a Presidential election in the history of the State.

He won so easily only a fool would expect a re-run and of course Michael D did nothing wrong
He had the lowest turnout in the history of the State, I'm not sure why you feel the need to pretend that he is popular. It's like all of his supporters are suffering from simpleton syndrome when it comes to his behaviour and the poor turnout. I look forward to the Oireachtas examining his accounts later this month. It will be extremely enlightening to see the actual breakdown of what he spent instead of the vague nonsense he tried of trying to hide it under.

Ha ha,the nonsense continues.Higgins was more popular than all the other candidates and got more votes than all the other candidates added together.

A learned and courageous president who received the largest number of votes since the state was founded.

GO ON ACCEPT IT.

Do you think that will ever actually happen? Would love to see it but not holding my breath.

Accept what? Higgins had the lowest turnout in the history of the state. Lets face it, if his dogs were running for election they'd have had more votes than any other candidate.
