So you'd vote for anybody but Michael D. Do you think then that Waters would have a good chance? How would you like it if Bertie ran? He's a superb politician even if many are cross with him.
Bertie deserves the job for his role in bringing relative peace to Northern Ireland.

No good. He can't stand the Non-Chalcedonian Orthodox. And they are heavy news around the midlands as you will be aware.

I remember DC getting really narky because it was suggested that he should throw his hat into the ring ... "I'm too young he stormed". Well, he's old enough now.

David Cochrane for the Aras!
I'd say he'd like it in the Aras.

Sorry, couldn't resist!

The presidential candidates need to be opened up to candidates of Irish origin the way the national football team was by Jack Charlton all those years ago. Especially in the USA, a candidate who has demonstrated great support of Ireland over their lifetime and is suited to the role as a figurehead (as opposed to the traditional FF approach of just one more job for the boys, and yes that obviously includes chancers like Sean Gallagher), another good preference would be for one of the many Irish men and women who have given their lives in service of the Church in poor parts of the world, developing better social services in India, Africa, Bangladesh, it is from such exemplary characters that we should find our next President, bring them home to remind the world of our traditional values and beliefs here that a hateful media seems determined to make people forget
If we really want to remind the world of our actual traditional values then surely Seán Gallagher would have made a fine candidate. Or - if you insist on an RCC connection - any of the bishops who covered up for child-molesting priests.

Not all traditions are good ones.

It's a shame Dermot Morgan is tatie Bread, but Jim Norton would certainly do the trick!

Frank Kelly would have made a fantastic President IMHO, A genuinely lovely person who had no problems with any section of society, He even thought those in prison deserved our humanity and help to better themselves, and with family values that were seldom bettered.

Over rated comics Kelley and Morgan are both dead.
Dont you think we have had enough overrated clowns in the Aras?

Waters could not do any worse and he at least has a brain that thinks

Sweet Jesus. Diarmuid Mulqueen would be a better candidate than that sanctimonious gibshíte Waters.
