Three parts to PT this evening. Hard to draw a common thread through them all.

1. Wind farms - green dream or nimby nightmare intones Pat Kenny.

2. You are what you eat - so no wonder you are confused, could be his line for the meat balls up story.

3. The man who moved to Connecticut brings up the rear.

Might be a bit more costly than we were led to believe, as The Economist says the Germans are finding -

'Yet the Energiewende has become a political powder keg in an election year. Ordinary Germans increasingly associate it only with their own electricity bills, which went up again in January. About half of an average consumer’s bill now goes to taxes and subsidies for renewables rather than the actual price of electricity quoted at the European Energy Exchange in Leipzig’s tallest building. Germans pay more for electricity than most other Europeans.'

Germany’s national energy project is becoming a cause for disunion

Is Miriam still in the Vatican?
They are proving very slow to release her. Some bureaucratic trouble over her exit visa....Or so they say.

I am a massive fan of wind turbines myself. But I have a friend who is in that sector, and is adamant that they are no efficient.

Anytime a debate comes up on this issue he gets really passionate. He also argues, not only can they be inefficient as a lot of evidence is suggesting, but giving the amount of cement that goes into the foundation, it takes years for them to lead to a green benefit effect.

The other option is of course Nuclear but in Ireland we don't like to discuss that option.

Well if you eat the HorseDonkey Burgers you will have backdraft enough to power a Wind Turbine that will end up making you smell like Sean Quinn after 30 days in the slammer without passing the soap.

RTÉ Prime Time‏@RTE_PrimeTime

And, from the States, @downesr reports on the battle between Sean Dunne and NAMA

That licence renewal form is still just lying on my table.

And no Miriam tonight ... she must be stuck in the airport with all her Gucci bags. :D
There is a rumour that the Red Hats want her to stay to chair their Conclave.

€18000 a year per turbine to the landowners, minimum.

Looks like the Minister has a closed mind. A dangerous thing that.
