Progressive Europe is beginning to call time on the fascistic regime in Istanbul.
MEPs got together to protest about the turkey invasion of North Syria. A brutal invasion relying on far right jihadi fash as the foot soldiers.

It's been a brutal invasion with Kurdish soldiers brutalized by the fash when captured. The most horrible example being the Kurdish soldier who was apparently captured alive but ended up dead with parts of her body cut off while the fash screamed about God.

Turkey is now a fascist state with Kurds treated like African Americans in pre civil rights America, women are required to be virtuous creatures of piety wrapped in cloth. Journalism is dead, the jury broken and the military desecularised.

The Muslim brotherhood linked dictatorship is spreading hate across the east with it's multiple invasions, it's policy in Europe and it's backing off the jihadist financing Qatar.

But these bigots aren't going to be left get away with it. Turkey has called it's opponents in Europe racists. They won't be compliments for the MEPs from Turkey.

There will be compliments from anti fascists.

There's three things emboldening them, one is they've realised they're not getting into the EU anytime soon. So they don't have to behave.

The other is the Trump administration's made it clear they don't care either and won't punish the Turkeys or Phillipines of the world for this stuff. So they don't have to behave.

They've seen Israel and Saudi Arabia screw around for ages and there's no material consequences. So they don't have to behave.

They are exploiting the lack of opposition and there also showing there willing to use force.
That won't be lost on Greece or Cyprus will it.
The EU has been very weak in it's response. Turkey has behaved inappropriately during elections in Europe. It's blackmailed Europe over refugees. It's constantly squaring off against Greece. It's trying to spread social and political norms which are totally at odds with what Europe is supposed to stand for and yet it's still a candidate for the EU.

Where does the EU stand on these fascists. It's hard to see a positive trend line.

Meet the Press (NBC) says Turkey is using former Al Qaida militants against the Kurds.

Reports of ISIS prisoners escaping Kurdish captivity.

Time for the EU to man up and get the troops in there.

We are always hearing about how big and powerful a bloc it is, so time to put up or shut up.

Europe does put forces on the ground. The problem at the moment is how do you think the could be deployed that would bring success?

Strangely enough these same progressive forces were - and probably still are - against the Assad - Russian onslaught against Assads enemies in Syria.
