Average weekly earnings fall - The Irish Times - Thu, Oct 21, 2010
QUOTE
In the private sector, hourly earnings were unchanged over the 12 months to the end of June at €19.32. During the same period, public sector hourly earnings fell by 4.2 per cent from €30.07 to €28.81.

Miles ahead per hour before the rolls royce pension and job security is factored in. God i almost feel sorry for these hard done by public sector workers. Its all a conspiracy by CSO and ESRI (state controlled agencies) against the PS . Come on in IMF/EU and save us from the parasites in the PS (not all in PS are parasites but a large amount are)

But all the big bad fat cats on millions a year are in the private sector! Anyway even after controlling for relevant skill levels ESRI showed the public sector vastly overpaid by domestic and international standards.

Spent all last night trying to get a client admitted to the local mental unit he suffers from severe paranoia . They only took him in after he slit his wrists.

How can you compare graded public servants like Guards ,Soldiers, Prison Officers etc to the private sector. there are no comparable jobs.

I beg to differ, Bill cullen is always saying he is a warrior in business, so that has to be the same. Although in comparison, our soldiers are vastly underpaid.

No one suggests, at least I hope no one does, that your pay should be cut but there is much fat in the HSE that could be cut.

Same old same old rubbish spewed out by jelaous bitter little people who at some stage looked at the public sector as a possible career and then decided, 'oh wait, i'd make far more money elsewhere so sod that' and now that the ************************ has hit the fan they attack and begrudge the PS and make up some more lies, damned lies and statistics. pathetic from the start and wholly untrue. No matter how many times they spew out this crap, it's never going to be true. I am down €54 a week since Jan 2009 and accepted it. If everyone and I mean everyone takles more hits, i'll be willing to also. You can bet the morons who spew out this nonsense are in high paid positions, got pay rises this year and collect bonuses etc...things which are alien to those of us who after 13 years in the civil service are just about reaching AVERGE industrial wages........

public service bashing.ie
very interesting post that! the ps bashing is constant on this site, as soon as one thread begins to fade another is started and i am starting to believe that this is an organised and coordinated plan of action by puppets of IN & M and FF
FF have obviously accepted that they have lost every ps vote, they are now hoping that FG & Lab will come out and say no more cuts to ps pay and they will use this as their election manifesto! "if we get re-elected we will exterminate public servants"
that is another reason for pretending that they intend to honour (strange word to use when speaking of FF) the CPA. election will more than likely be in the spring 2011, they will abando CPA then
in the meantime we will resume with the ps bashing, but leave time for sw receipents and lets not leave out those pesky foreign nurses that are raping and pillaging the country!

so once again the CSO shows the PS is the best paid sector of the economy and once again the apologists are on trying to obfuscate.

THIS is why you got hit in the budget, this is why youll be hit again.

forget trying to compare sectors.

when it comes to a decision to hit the top 20 percentile or the lowest itll be the top 20% every time

and thats every guard, prison officer, teacher and nurse in the country.

its not "targetting" , its not "PS bashing"

its fiscal reality.

just cause you lot ridiculously compare youself to bankers it doesnt negate the fact your the richest in the country, and just like youve been giving out about the gov are gonna hit ya !

Yet again we are supposed to believe that the unemployed don't exist and are not all from the Private Sector.

With Several hundred thousand private sector workers now on the dole queue, whats the average earning? When private sector workers are laid off, they still exist. Their lot is still the lot of many private sector workers. The trend to date has been to ignore completely the lot of the unemployed private sector 'worker class' and wheel them out only when it suits SIPTU and their misery can support the a Public Sector pay claim. Its a pretty sick specticle.

Careful now, you may hurt yourself and have to depend on the excellent medical care of those same public service workers that you despise soo much.
