At least under the communists there was a mechanism for replacing the boss in an orderly fashion. Succession may now be abrupt.

Russia's Putin unveils 'invincible' nuclear weapons - BBC News

One such image envisages striking Florida.

This briefing coincides with reports of Russian Infantry officially arriving in Damascus to fight alongside the SAA to purge Ghouta of Al Qaeda terrorists.

These are dangerous times. Will NATO accept no longer being top dog in this game of bluff or chicken, or whatever game you want to call it.

Note the following Threat/Warning of imminent Nuclear War with North Korea

https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/922390/North-Korea-news-update-latest-Donald-Trump-Kim-Jong-Un-World-War-3-nuclear-bomb

AMERICAN Lawyer Jim Rickards warned Donald Trump will strike an attack to North Korea by the end of March 2018 to prevent "existential threats" from Kim Jong-un.
He said: "I give a 70 per cent probability to a US attack, what we’d call a preventive war that we started but we’re doing it to prevent existential threats to us, to the United States, before the end of March 2018.
The stupid, ignorant and ridiculous old farts running the world are just as dangerous as the stupid, ignorant and ridiculous old farts running the world in 1914. Its not a great state of affairs, nor is the fact that people will actually take these psychos seriously.

In Canada we do nothing particularly well and yet our median income is many times that of Russia’s, a nation of great achievements in many spheres. How is that? Russians need to ask that question more often.

Maybe Russians have a different value system. Can your wealthy, cosseted product of imperialism, Canadian mind even comprehend that idea?

Again, countries should serve their people, not vice versa. If a system can’t deliver the goods, e.g. peace, prosperity, freedom, then its time for change. It would be nice if leaders actually came to us and apologized for being useless. By any reasonable set of criteria Putin and his gang should have done that already and locked themsleves up. Instead he wants to bang the war drum to distract attention from his own miserable performance.

Canada, as part of NATO, has been threatening nuclear attack on Russia for decades. It costs a lot of money to protect Russia from Canadian warmongering.

Except that Russia is riddled with alcoholism, and life expectancy is ten years less on average.

Would you give ten years off your (average) life to live in Russia?

"Putin announces Russia's invincible defense capabilities"

None of that sounds very defensive to me.

What he described were attack options.

As for being "invincible", what does that mean? The US (or anyone else) may not currently be able to stop such weapons, but the US (and some others) would be able to hit back, as even these new Russian weapons can't possibly eliminate all US nuclear assets, even using a heavy first strike.

He's also talking rubbish if he believes that these weapons are going to be invincible "in the face of all ...future systems of both missile defence and air defence". How does he know what the future holds?
Russia has not attacked any country with nukes but your heros have

Russia is collapsing economically. Slowly but it is ona downward trajectory. They don't have the money for this sort of thing. Looks like it was cooked up by some nerdy intern.

This is how really offensive nuclear strategy looks, when low yield nuclear charges will be used to support invasion

An awful lot of fans of Putin's Russia on this thread, isn't there. Perhaps they should try being a journalist there.

Particularly a journalist critical of Putin or his party - of course I'm sure it's all just huge western conspiracy they aren't really murdered at all
