He was saying he would prefer if Mr Blair remained within the protestant faith he had been born into.

Much the same as any priest would say to any catholics who converted to protestantism.

Nothing earth-shattering in them now, is there? (Why is this in the NI forum, by the way? The Orange is a global institution).

Disloyalty to the protestant faith he was born into.

Much the same as any priest would say of a catholic convert to protestantism.

Or even....

http://www.wesley.school.nz/assets/PDFs/Trust/THE-METHODIST-ETHOS.pdf

Methodism despite claiming it's ethos is in opposition to 'cultures of violence' or 'exclusion' is a big supporter of Zionism, a most exclusive and indeed violent ideology. Former pupil Chaim Herzog (who fought in the 48 war and expulsion of Arabs) on his visit to Ireland made sure to drop by and pay his respects.

Apart from Methodism Wesley is an elite school, all those elite schools have their own ethos and their own mission statement.

There are many 'ideologies' and agendas, at least the two mentioned here before are Irish born and certainly in the case of KOC not involved in any culture of violence at all.
