Rasharkin Intimidation Takes a Sinister Turn

The house of a Catholic family in the county Antrim village of Rasharkin has been targeted for the second time in a month. The attackers, believed to be loyalists, pulled up outside the house in the early hours of Sunday morning and threw a petrol bomb which struck a front window. Fortunately no-one was injured.

BBC News - Petrol bomb thrown at house in Rasharkin

Meanwhile local Sinn Féin representative Dáithí McKay has reported a threat made against him on the Facebook page of fellow North Antrim MLA, John Finlay. A 'friend' of the DUP man, who regularly accuses Sinn Féin - and McKay in particular - of links to a supposed 'ethnic cleansing' campaign in Rasharkin, replied to one of Finlay's posts with a suggestion that someone should put a bullet (or two) in the SF rep. The comment has since been removed.

It's unfortunate the fortress-like Orange Hall in Rasharkin attracts sectarian vandalism - as does GAA and AOH property in the area - but really it's time the DUP told it's reps to done down their rhetoric before someone gets hurt.

David McKay is solely to blame for raising tensions in that village.

In 5 years time there won't be a protestant left in the area.

Whilst anyone getting shot would be sad I'd rather it was McKay than one of the few remaining protestants left in the village. They have suffered enough over the years with bombs, physical assaults, petrol bombs, pipe bombs, verbal abuse, etc.

Better a dead taig than a prod. For all BC's intelligence and presentation that's his logic, it's deeply embedded in the unionist mindset

What do they expect considering the whole country knows about the ethnic cleansing of Protestants from the area? It was only a matter of time before people got fed up and fought back.

Better the one stirring up the trouble dead than an innocent protestant granny burnt to death in the middle of the night.

I'm still hoping David McKay might lose control of his vehicle negotiating that cliff road beside Cushendun and get an impromptu dip in the Irish Sea.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You get used to this here on P.ie. There have been a number of good unionist posters on P.ie over the years but ever so often you get the likes of BC coming across P.ie and posting franticly for a year or so. They tend to get bored with themselves and drift away in the end.

I'm sure some of the long time members remember the likes of 'pogon'.

Why ban the best propagandist that republicans have on this site? FFS, he doesn't even realise he's a Subject of HM.
Come on....He openly talked about leading Loyalist paramilitaries discussing the subject of planting no warning in country towns in the 26 counties with him...If me or merle had said something similar we would be sitting in a jail cell now...Think about it....

For real....Imagine if a Republican had something similar?

It would be all over the papers and she or he would be in a police cell.
