The homeless figures continue their march towards 10,000 with no improvement in sight.

Even with the manipulation of the last 2 months figures by the Dept of Housing,
the problem just gets worse.

Still no protection for tenants in rental properties taken over by receivers.

Is it time for a sleeves up photo-op by Minister Murphy ?

PS Can a mod correct my spelling of children

Judging by his Twitter account Eoghan Murphy has no time for this kind of triviality.

He has almond eating cows to joke about, swims to enjoy in the 40ft, trad sessions with Zappone to celebrate 25 years of legal girl-on-girl action, etc. Homes for the vulnerable just don’t seem sexy anymore.

One great re-tweet of his this week was how we (the tax payer, not the government) were going to spend €2bn on housing “programmes” this year...meaning pumping money into private landlords and developers hands.

I asked the Mods to correct your spelling to 'chisslers' ;)

His best was buying houses off the market and passing them off as social housing. What a swindler.
To be clear for all the FG'ers out there; he paid market going rate for houses to go towards the very same people youse won't build social housing for, because cutting your nose to spite your face might cost you more but sticks it to...well the tax payer, but it makes money for the developers so y'know.

I guess folk would rather be paying the ever growing cost of hotels, private rentals and buying at market, than building our own, as they continue to blame 'de left'...the middle is squeezed so FG/FF can finance private housing concerns.

The sad part is we have tory boy Leo making it commonplace to dismiss these crises. We've gone from 'these things take time' to 'what crises?' to 'stop whinging'. Grand legacy.

The figure is probably north of 10,000 already because of FFG policies  after all it is the hypocritical political liar Murphy counting the homeless figures!

If you told half of Nigeria living in Dublin that Nigeria is not a country that we need to consider a place we accept asylum seekers from and they need to go home now, this problem would literally be solved overnight. You'd free up that many properties.

The only thing consistent about Fine Gael is their lies.....that 5 point plan was some joke...but they surpassed that.

They're other peoples' property...the state keeps talking about these houses as if they're relevant to solving the problem, put until the government actually DOES something to make it attractive or compulsory to sell them it's no one's business but the owners.
