Just reported elsewhere; FG 28 (nc); FF 26 (+5); lab 12 (+1); SF 16 (-3); ind 18 (-3).

How the various polling companies are distributing the 'don't knows' is becoming a point of interest. Gov parties pretty much as they were (no bounce from the promnote 'deal' though) but movement within the opposition numbers.

Of course the next poll will be in the context of the letters for the property tax going out and it will be interesting to see if that has already been factored in or will it hurt FG and Labour. You'd expect their Dublin support to take a hit on that issue.

So over 50% of the population of this fair isle want to vote either for the crowd that got us into this mess, the crowd that latterly agreed that shooting policemen is a bad idea or a bunch of parish pump individualists. Gr8.

Pretty obvious at this point that the "grandkids paying for it" killed off any hope of a bounce. Increasingly obvious as well how pointless polls with don't knows accounting for close to a third of possible voters are.

Could be that most people are not thinking about elections?

Worrying times for SF! They had been stagnating in the polls for a while and are now going backwards again! Gerry Adams continuing to be Fianna Fail's secret weapon!

More people around me talking about politics than in the last year and a bit. Just my personal observation.

An election would help to focus people and would see the Don't Know numbers fall.

I'm sure it would but would it solve anything?

Even as we speak, Micheal is browsing the websites of all the 5-star hotels he's planning on staying in. "A lot done, a few more to do", eh?
