Renua have announced a protest outside the Dail to highlight the bias in the Oireachteas committee on Abortion. The Committee apparently has refused to listen to their expert, Solicitor Alan Daveran. Alan was closely involved in the Roche v Roche case that decided at what stage in the life of the unborn the protection of the 8th kicked in.
Have they a point? With 27 pro choicers and only 4 pro lifers it certainly looks like a stitch up.

As I understand it the anti-choice crowd declined to participate very much in terms of delegates and there is also the truth that there are only so many strands in anti-choice stance that aren't traceable directly back to 'Babbeh' of the religious view that life begins at conception.

You can trump up three or four speakers at best who can do their utmost to disguise the fact that they are representatives of a religious view but that becomes harder when you are trying to muster a dozen or two dozen ways of saying 'Babbeh'.

The Committee whose totally unbiased and independent Chairperson flew to London for a pro-abortion event last week?

The Committee who voted not to retain the 8th amendment before all evidence was heard?

Where's the evidence of bias?

The first thing you note about religious 'politicians' is that because they have a higher calling than ordinary politicians they believe they can lie, twist the truth, distort along the lines of 'mental reservation'.

A shower of opportunist wasters. Maybe they should aim their protest at the anti choice cowards who refused to participate in the committee.

Where was Renua when the JOC for Justice and Equality were discussing Sex work and the Sexual Offences act as 100% active card carrying members of "Turn Off the Red Light" - because religious people don't go in for double standards now, do they?

Any chance of a link. When is this protest starting. Is this going to be like the guy who went on hunger strike nine to five for a week. He didn't last long.

So this is the Roche v Roche case mentioned in the OP

https://www.herald.ie/news/mother-loses-legal-battle-for-embryos-27936136.html

Does it say what the OP is stating?

The solicitor involved must be delighed with the case, according to the Indo it cost 2 Million in legal fees.

REN Alan Daveron Favours keeping the 8th Amendment.

I guess if you combine pro choice and those in the middle ground (probably the vast majority of people) then everything is going to look biased to the so called pro lifers.

Just because 50% of what is emitted by the committee doesn't chime with the so called pro lifers doesn't mean the committee is biased however... it's probably simply an accurate reflection of public opinion which the so called pro lifers don't wish to acknowledge or accept.
